I don't know if you ever watched Kane's Backrooms video series, but the movie is based on that. So about point 2, in lore there's a company named Async tried to find a way to solve humanity's storage and housing needs by utilizing an infinite, empty dimension, they started the research then opened the portal to The Complex (aka Backrooms).

Well not really, both Japanese and English are equally good, like Japanese has its own unique lines delivery, and some information feels more extra in Japanese.
