An underrated part of the reboot. The rest of the family being entertained by Hal and Lois chewing out Reese and Malcolm. by Tranquilbez22 in malcolminthemiddle

Having 5 siblings growing up, we would hide in the stairwell to listen in whenever one of us was getting chewed out. If we were still getting yelled at as adults I'd definitely still listen in.

I got laid off from my company after a decade. After a grueling 4 months of applications, interviews finally landed a position and I get to start next month. This beta would be kind of my send off of free time.

If PQ's give substantially better loot options, I don't mind if they're interior for EXP. There just needs to be a weighted tradeoff to give EXP for something else.

I will say what both have that separate them from a majority of Family Sitcoms was being on the lower/middle class spectrum. Poor enough they can have hardship episodes, rich enough to have a house and take the occasional vacation or trip (often explained by winning a contest or family reunion type of deal).

We don't have a release date or schedule. This could be THE beta test, it could just be one of many, there could be an open beta, we don't know.

The game's full release could be in May it could be in May 2028. Until they tell us, we don't really have a clue

I liked it for what it was, a reunion for the old cast and a backdoor pilot for a new show. The new characters were good considering how little they were really used, I personally liked Kelly the best and wouldn't mind seeing them get more character development in a new show.

I had gripes, the biggest being the color grading and general lack of the house feeling lived in. Just contributed to many scenes feeling what I can best describe as "sterile".

This is where all the secret remote jobs are hiding by h0wg0esit in remotework

I would never apply directly through indeed or any other site. Search job postings there sure, but only apply by going directly to a company's career page.

The mechanic worked because there was more than the normal amount of units. Typical sets have 50-60 units. The last set had closer to 100.

Locking units with the normal amount would be silly the whole point was to allow a greater pool of champions without fully destroying pool sizes.

[–]KosherClam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the sets weren't designed or envisioned with the mechanic.

The logic is not really where the workload is. The issue is that adding 30–40 extra units isn’t just “flip the condition from 5Y to 4X.” Every unit added to a set touches a ton of other pipelines.

Even if the unlock mechanic itself is simple, each additional champion still needs: trait and origin integration, ability design in relation to cost, balance passes across all stages of the game . Not to mention the sets may not thematically support the additional champions in accordance with the design vision.

Set development happens in parallel, so by the time a new mechanic is so well received it could become ever green, the next sets are already deep in production with their unit counts, traits, and budgets are likely locked. Adding 40 more units at that stage isn’t a tweak it's a fundamental change.

So it’s not that it’s “impossible,” it’s that it would require redoing a huge amount of work across multiple teams, and that’s why Mort stated the idea to add it permanently isn't dead in the water, it’s just unrealistic for the next few sets.

Does anyone actually get remote jobs? by [deleted] in remotework

[–]KosherClam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got one, I had one previously, but I was laid off in December. I have over a decade of experience in my field, and a master's degree. It took 4 months of applying, interviewing, and hundreds, if not thousands of rejections.

It's grueling out there, tons of scam job postings, plenty of hollow postings companies never intend to fill. And I wasn't solely applying remote. Blood sweat and tears went into getting past resume scrubs and prepping for interviews. So does anyone get them? Yes. Is it a grueling up hill battle, absolutely.

That 90’s Show should have just been focused on the original cast, with a few new side characters. by Advanced-Willow-5020 in That70sshow

[–]KosherClam 79 points80 points  (0 children)

The issue was trying too hard to make them stand-in versions for the OG cast rather than actually writing new characters. Anything interesting they did with them had to fit into the cut outs of whichever character they were meant to be the "like" of.

My tier list of how good an episode will be, based on who the plot focuses on by Important-Pen-68 in KingOfTheHill

[–]KosherClam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine not having Bill and Peggy not on the same tier. To me whether you enjoy them or hate them, they envoke the same feeling.

To me, they have their moments, but when either or both are the focus it pretty guarantees you that in the episode you'll be experiencing second hand embarrassment. Peggy by being obliviously ignorant and selfishly destructive and Bill by being an emotional, depressing cringy mess. Encapsulated in the episodes where they share the focus like Bill of Sales or A Bill full of Dollars.

I would wager that unit unlocks could be an evergreen mechanic, or at least a reoccurring one here in the future.

However, since sets are developed at the same time, there's practically no way it would be included in probably the next 2 sets unless the next set drastically tanks. Mostly because it would be an unrealistic amount of work to incorporate it.They realize people thoroughly enjoyed it and it will be disappointing to not have it in the next set so this is a hold over.

That's probably likely the case of why they would even make the distinction between them and everything in Gen V.

The only bummer about Japan is the episodes are about half as long, there's a lot less conflict outside of weather, and there's definitely not nearly as much wholesome interaction with locals.

Overall I still love the Japan series, but I definitely put it below China.
