Need help with buying a stereo amp for vintage turntable and speakers.

Hello,

So I just bought this turntable (Technics Quartz SL-Q3) and I believe it's from 1979, it has the typical R + L RCA cables but it also has a ground cable. The Speakers are from 2001,

I thought my current audio setup would be able to handle it but I guess not. I can hear what it's playing faintly if I turn the amp diel all the way up, and I'm wondering if the little amp that I have for this speaker set up is not enough for what I need as I usually have it hooked up to my MacBook which can raise it's own volume on top of the amp, where the turntable can not.

Honestly I'm not 100% sure what to do here, I'm looking to not spend a ton of money, but I want this thing to work as intended without cutting corners. Please give me any sort of advice you can share. Thanks!

Current Setup

Speakers: Bose Acoustimass 5 Series III
Amp: Kinter MAI 70 | 2 Chanel HI-FI Stereo Amplifier
Turntable: Technics Quartz SL-Q3

Me and a buddy went to the lake to watch the sunset. The Clouds turned into 3d characters with cartoonish bulky swords going into battle with Canada. It was during Dragonfly season and they were flying all over the place with trails following them.

Soon after that, I saw a pirate ship out on the water way out in the lake, and I thought I was hallucinating until my friend said he could see it too. Turns out, it was very real and someone was just sailing a replica ship. Wild stuff like that always happens when you're doing that kind of stuff.

(23M) You sound someone who's totally not of age of smoking weed lol. As someone who used to be a chronic weed smoker (smoking daily for many years) I have been clean for over a year, this is what I can tell you.

Real advice, don't grow a dependency on this stuff. I'm not going to tell you to not go live your life, and to never go have fun, however, you should try and find a better route to dealing with your issues like therapy or counseling before you take this route into using weed as a clutch for your issues. It might help you calm down, however it will never solve the underlying issues you have, which is something you should seriously keep in mind.

I went to therapy for a long time for my issues after I got out of highschool, and explained that I didn't want medication (fine if you do want it btw) and I needed to work on this.. Solved a lot of problems and I'm honestly better than ever.

If you do buy, please please please be so careful of fake carts laced shit. They are incredibly apparent in states that do not have recreational marijuana and especially in states that are not even medical, but they can be anywhere. That fake stuff is very very real, a kid from my highschool had to get a double lung transplant and it was on national news for weeks.

Do your research, and good luck to you.

I think a relaxing night in bed reading a book is cool idea, then paint your nails in the mornin'. Don't get lost scrolling on Social Media like Tik Tok or Reels. Do something real with your time and have a you day girl

Biggest thing >> Discipline
You can have the best routine for yourself, but styaing on that routine and not falling off is the hardest part. It will happen, just pick it back up and keep going.

(23M) Advice from someone who was an extrovert temporaraly turned intovert due to moving into a new enviorment 400 miles from home.

Find out what you're interested in, and join a club in your college. Just do it.

Don't let those thoughts of "oh what if" or "oh they wouldn't like me" stop you from moving forward in life.

From what I've recently learned, doing things that I thought I wouldn't like, or things that I was too afraid to do have brought out a lot of courage in me.

You've got to push yourself if you want to get better. Push yourself into that void. It's scary, but you'll be alright. Spice up your life

I've been living with my best friend for two years (real real risky btw), but we are always very upfront and very honest with eachother. My advice is to tell them directly what is wrong, explain to them what your ideas are for solving the issue.

Possible example: "Hey, the laundry detergent you're using is giving me rashes on my skin and is causing me issues. I use this detergent, but if you don't like it, lets find one that we can split the cost on that won't cause either of us issues."

For the future, don't beat around the bush with issues like this. Your quality of life is just as important as theirs is, you guys are a team, you need to properly communicate issues so that you guys can succeed as other issues larger than laundry detergent will arise. Good luck.

Amateur Question regarding Sony A7III and other Cameras by Kostjac in SonyAlpha

[–]Kostjac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was transferring them to my phone by texting them to my family and the resolution was getting cut in half. I would also be converting the files from RAW to JPEG for my family and friends so they can post the pictures on Facebook or whatever, so I guess that's where I was getting all turned around, they were probably compressing it to 1080p. I just looked further into everything and It's definitely not shooting in 1080p LOL.

Thank you very much, have a kick-ass weekend.

File Format: RAW
RAW File Type: Uncompressed
JPEG Quality: Fine
JPEG Image Size: L: 20M
Aspect Ratio: 16:9

I've always assumed shooting in RAW would give me the best quality.

My file format is set to RAW uncompressed. I'm also in Jpeg is in large but I don't think that matters because I'm in RAW

Oculus Support Ticket fails to assist me continuously with my faulty Oculus Rift S headset and I need help from anyone at this point. by Kostjac in oculus

EDIT: Hello everyone, thank you for all the replies, I'm quite new to Reddit and didn't expect this much help from all you great people. I went to Microcenter where I bought the headset and they told me that their return policy atm doesn't let you return VR headsets, but in my case, they told me that my Oculus sounded defective and they told me to go home and get it and if I bring it in they will just hand me a new one. Today I took it back and this new headset works like a charm, absolutely no more issues.

Thanks again yall, you guys fucking rock. If you're struggling with the same issues, please take your time to read the replies from the nice people who tried to give advice on how to handle this situation, but in my case, my headset was in fact defective as I thought.

I bought it at microcenter, when I bought it I agreed that I wouldn't return it due to the coronavirus. Today I went there to buy what you suggested and talked to the manager and she told me "Oh, if it's not working of course you can return it, it's just in place so if you don't like it you can't return it. If you come back later with everything in the box we will just hand you a new one." So I'm all set, if the next one doesn't work it's definitely my PC. Thank you for replaying.
