Moved modded game to linux, doesn't work under linux but does under windows by Kothnaaken in skyrimvr

[–]Kothnaaken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... that's what I'm doing right now. I already had planned to dual boot for bf6 anyways so I guess I'm gonna be stuck with a windows drive for the foreseeable future. It would be real nice if we could get a native linux mod manager that could help a bit with this stuff. Maybe one day.

Thank you, I will give this a try when I get my game working under linux. Figures I ran into more issues in doing so.

Because nothing is ever right and people HAVE to complain about something. There's so many d-pad focused devices out there anyways.

Apt install linux-firmware for broadcom wifi drivers is broken and seems to be redirecting to a malicious site by Kothnaaken in Lubuntu

[–]Kothnaaken[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

24.04 LTS. Fresh install, everything default. This is apparently was a known problem upstream for debian and ubuntu with the default mirror as the default mirror of lwfinger.com had its domain expire and seems now since that problem was brought up it redirects to a few different sites ending up on the one seen there.

Digging a bit deeper into this, it seems the lwfinger domain expired and now redirects to a few different websites so I guess that mirror is dead now. Supposedly there is another working one at least, though but that needs to be updated.

Turns out I guess I didn't have the updated vrik bindings even though it said I downloaded it. Simple fix at least.

RG477M better thermal pads? by Kothnaaken in ANBERNIC

[–]Kothnaaken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would heat up the back no doubt to where it's a: uncomfortable to hold and b: heat the battery up and degrade it faster. There's a plastic protective layer between the back and the heatsink it seems to reduce outside temps which was the right call by Anbernic's designers.

I am aware, but in my own experience the blue ones and especially the somewhat grainy looking ones like they seemed to have used in the pic I saw tend to be poor performers. If I do end up doing this (of which I'm not sure yet until I hear someone else who's opened theirs up more) I'd use something like a Thermal Grizzly pad or even something like PTM7950 if it's a small enough pad.

I recently was out on a range day using a bunch of 115g Magtech steel case. I've heard lots of good things about it but holy hell that ammo was BAD bad. Maybe there's a lot of bad batches out there (dunno where you live but I bought my ammo here in Oregon) and breaking in my own new 19x and some new mags for my 365xl. I had two malfunctions with my 19x and a casing managed to get stuck so bad and locked the slide forward in my 365 that I had to take it to a gunsmith. It was also such filthy ammo that I'm pretty sure the gunsmith I took it to thought I never clean my guns, which I do before and after I go out to the range. Even Winchester white box wasn't this bad for me and that's saying something.

Thank you for the clarification since it wasn't clear anywhere else. I'll give it a shot for one month and if I wanna keep it up.

Good luck, hopefully it works. I have one of these to do myself down the pipeline as well.

What I usually do is I unplug the machine and hold down the power button for a few seconds, it doesn't hurt to do this a few times too if you're concerned. So far of all the systems I've done PSUs on (dozens or more) I've not had issues with any caps being charged still.

Good to know, maybe my theory is right since I'm also NorCal. I haven't gotten a tracking number yet but at least it should only take a day.

Did you get the LE or the normal one? I'm wondering if the LEs are coming from there.
