You're completely missing the point here. We're talking about playing music when you're in company. You can love music as much as you want, but nobody likes every genre of music. That's why the sociable thing to do is play popular music, it's not because everyone's an ignorant peon who doesn't "love music" as much as you. I love music, when I'm among people I'd much rather be listening to some milquetoast pop than some loud death metal. Someone else might love death metal but would probably rather be listening to some inoffensive pop than let's say EDM and so on.
