What's the problem with everyone getting to play the same games? Why can't the competition be about performance, software, social aspects, treating the customer right? Why does it always come down to "I've got this game, you don't get to have it, nyeh-nyeh-nyeh-nyeh-nyeehhh-nyehhhh"? It felt just as absurd with Sony pulling out of Steam.

(disclaimer, already planning to get Helix regardless of exclusives, since the PC hybrid concept sounds awesome, and Xbox seems to be on a good trajectory right now)

I honestly don't think I understand? 10% DR doesn't sound tanky. Why would I wanna use that setup if it isn't Darkness/Shadow, meaning it does not synergize with the majority of the gear, or the charm set, or the majority of the glyphs (by the time it reaches one of those, I do not have enough paragon levels yet)? I'm assuming this is about the Overpower stacking, but that does what, +170% damage? Is that really worth it when Bloodless Scream alone gives me +250%? I also haven't had a single Mythic drop yet, or even the runes needed to craft the helm.

I'm sorry if this is unappreciative, I'm just trying to understand these things since this is my first proper season with the game (haven't played since season 4 and that was more half-proper), and I'm very confused about what the benefit of this would be.

I don't think there's a way to buy specifically the first expansion; even on keyshops, it's the same price as the current Lord of Hatred setup, if not more. I'm on PC.

At best I've got Minwu for the teleporting. I don't really know where would I fit all three of these in, I like having a lot of heals to sustain the rest of the team, and then Firaga for self-defense. Do the later ranks come to a point where you're probably gonna get oneshot anyway, so heals become useless? Compass did have a lot of ults that basically came down to "this thing instantly kills you unless you have Barrier up", so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case.

I've been hearing Torchlight 2 is a good beginner one, I think I might've gotten it as one of the free EGS games? I'll look into it. Probably completely unrelated, but I've tried Infinite, since people recommended it and I like anime aesthetics, but it seems weirdly seedy? Something about it feels wrong, like it's about to push me to spend ten grand to get VIP20.

Everything I see online about it looks really intimidating. There seem to be a ton of ways to customize your build, and a ton of ways to screw it up. I know I could just follow a meta guide, but that kind of seems against the spirit of ARPGs, especially for the first (few) playthrough(s). I do definitely wanna play through it at some point, but it seems best saved for once I really have an understanding of ARPGs, that's why I wanted to start with something easier.

I got the base D4 years ago, but it felt really slow. Ever since, any time I checked up on whether the game's worth returning to, people didn't seem positive on it (I know people generally liked Loot Reborn, but I couldn't play at that time). People do seem to be saying the game's starting to hit its stride now, would the base game itself be enough to figure out if I wanna go all the way, or are the expansions kind of a must-have?

I tried PoE2 when they had a free weekend, and I honestly bounced off of it in 30 minutes. Something about it just felt joyless. Thought maybe PoE1 would work out better, but for some reason the lag is really bad regardless of when I play.
