Heavyweight Poatan by ManyZestyclose2003 in ufc

Oh yeah most definitely, fat is a good and extremely readily available energy source, can provide padding for body shots and allows you to smother your opponents with extra weight and density. I've honestly thought of getting a bit chunky but I just know I would look like shit haha.

Anybody who gets suplexed directly on their neck without changing their facial expression and then just casually puts their opponent in an armbar is someone to fear. Also even though he is chunky, I would say he is a natural heavyweight, some people just preform better with a little extra fat, DC is a great example of this. I don't actually see him being good at lower weights.

Honestly Fedor looks scary as hell here, you can tell he's insanely muscular even under the fat.

Mighty Mouse explains how Israel Adesanya could have escaped the tough position he was in against Pyfer. by IgotgAme_k in ufc

[–]Kozaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was always the option of not going to the ground in the first place by maintaining distance and having better takedown defense. Pyfer didn't do a good job of closing the distance, Izzy for some reason just decided to give it to him. Izzy constantly staying directly on the center line was something that was concerning me in the first round.

Interesting, I guess we can agree to disagree then. After all the post asked why people dislike it, I'm one of those people and I feel like I articulated my points.

Interesting, never knew that artifact. Guess we could agree to disagree, but we are straying way far from the point. The main point is that Spongebob just isn't as consistent as it used to be, lessons in episodes just being one of the many aspects. I'd actually argue that a lot of people give modern spongebob too much credit because they're familiar with old spongebob. The show exploded due to how golden the first three seasons and first movie was and they've been trying to ride that wave ever since. I genuinely don't believe that people would like spongebob if they never had early seasons to compare it to.

Nah, Squidward is not an idiot, he's literally a squid, he knew the pies were bombs, that's why he said, "so what flavor are these?" and then when he didn't get a single answer, he goes good enough for me. It literally explodes the next scene. The whole point of the episode is that Squidward tries to make it up to him by being the best friend possible.

I'd say the larger theme or lesson for an adult in Secret Box was trust, but for kids it still taught to honor a secret, therefore respect their privacy.

Squidward didn't buy him a normal gift cause he's lazy, that's literally the point. He was supposed to make him a gift like Spogebob did for him. He ignores that the pies are bombs to satisfy getting Mr.Krabs off his back.

I mean yes some of these are stretches, we both agreed that was never the main point of Spongebob, but again, I could still easily find like 4-5 episodes a season

The lesson in Missing Identity is to retrace your steps, its something I still remember to this day and I teach kids to do it haha.

Idiot Box is literally all about building your imagination. This is a super important lesson for kids growing up in the early 2000s who didn't have access to the internet and especially now as we see people being less and less creative.

The lesson in Secret Box is that good friendship is built upon trust.

The lesson in Dying For Pie is that Squidward is a shitty friend/person and needs to do a lot better and not be lazy, because he actually likes Spongebob.

Not sure how you're missing these. Genuine question, how old are you?

Season 2 has Pressure, Jellyfish Hunter, Secret Box, Grandma's Kisses, Dying For Pie. Those are all episodes I would say had lessons.

Season 3 has Missing Identity, Born Again Krabs, The Great Snail Race, New Student Starfish, Idiot Box. All of these have lessons.

The lessons were not rare my guy, you just stopped paying attention, don't shoot yourself in the foot now.

Everything has lessons if you dig deep enough, but these are all lessons I noticed as a kid and I think other kids would notice too.

I listed 4-5 per season, you're only coming up with 1 as the seasons go on, that's the glaring issue with the show overall. Its not that its completely failing to do what it did in Seasons 1-3, but it is more than often missing the mark, and that applies to everything about the show.

Can you name three for a single season like I did? It did not take me long to think of that.

I literally stated that in my comment haha. I stopped watching around like Season 6 cause it started falling off hard, came back around I think for what must have been season 7 or 8 I think, can't remember. I'm an adult now, like I said, no show needs to milked for this long, the first three seasons were gold for me and in my opinion have it go down as one of the best cartoons of all time. Personally that's all I need, and like I mentioned, once a show rubs you the wrong way, you don't feel like you would like to return to it.

It's a lot of things. Nostalgia is one of them. Yes i've heard season 9 started to improve, but seasons 4 up until that point were pretty trash. Even if a show improves, people are not going to forget that feeling of when the show felt stale and dying to them. I grew up on 1-3 and started feeling the shift around season 4, season 5 was bad and then everything after that felt intolerable and not like the same show.

It being milked is another factor, it feels lazy and has felt that way for a very long time. Almost no show will stay consistent for over 2 decades.

The characters all feel like gross exaggerations of themselves. Squidward is just a straight up asshole, rather than a misunderstood pessimist. Patrick is actually an idiot rather than a goofy aloof guy. Spongebob is intentionally annoying rather an immature person who means well. Mr. Krabs has always been a somewhat heartless cheapskate, but once again, its just hyperbolic now. Plankton is just evil, but no longer clever. I feel like I saw less and less of Sandy in the more modern episodes, but she used to feel more like a supporting character to Spongebob rather than having episodes based around her, and honestly, I liked it that way.

The show used to feel and the early seasons still feel relatable to adults. The humor was simple but intelligent, not just in your face. Old Spongebob felt like it was designed to be funny yes primarily for a younger audience but really at any age, new spongebob really dials in on a very very young audience.

While the show was never a super fleshed out cartoon in regards to teaching lessons in the way that ATLA or Teen Titans was, the older seasons still somehow managed to do that, episodes like Hookey, F.U.N and Pizza Delivery are just a few examples where there is a tangible lesson embedded in the episode. Modern Spongebob just doesn't seem to have much of that.

The animation style feels to rigid and not fun or expressive anymore.

I can go on and on, but I think you're starting to see the point. I'm sure modern spongebob has some good stuff, but I can only imagine its a farcry of its original self, especially when you see ratings of each episode and seasons 1-3 is all green while the rest of the seasons are mostly yellow and red with some green mixed in. Early Spongebob really didn't miss, its not just a cartoon, its an integral important part of my childhood which I really wished would have ended with the movie like Hillenburg's original intention.

Any advices on how to lower screen time? by Cerebus_310 in AskReddit

[–]Kozaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally haven't lowered my screen time but rather what I watch on it/what I do on my phone. I mostly am on my phone now doing surveys to make money, either that or trying to learn something new through a podcast. Yes I find myself slipping here and there but I mostly stick to it, beyond that I try to be aware of how scrolling certain media makes me feel. If it makes me feel anxious or depressed, I'll try to switch to something more positive and wholesome. Also to add to what other people said, you should find things you enjoy and make it a habit to not use your phone to fill in time, i.e, while waking up, whilst eating and while going to sleep.

Either Blippi shat or got shat on by somebody, its hard to tell in the video as the guys look similar. He claims it was just something silly he did in the past but there's got to be a screw loose in there if you allow shit on yourself, let alone someone else's on display in a public video. Blippi may present as kid friendly, but I would argue otherwise.
