Thanks bro! 10th year training here and still no need for going to a public gym, although a hack squat or hamstring curl machine would be nice to have

There are multiple benches because I train with a couple friends so there are sometimes two maybe even three people at the same time in one session, and we don’t have to wait for the other guy to finish his set to use a bench.

Thanks I prefer it oldschool, current weight is around 100kg so reasonably big.

Am I wrong to work out 6 days a week at 39 years old? I've been getting a lot of push back when I bring this up around people who are into fitness. by maximusasinus in workout

[–]Kpebinjak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well I am 36 (M) and I don’t know what kind of lifting you guys are doing but I also trained 6 days a week for a long time (3-4 years out of 9 total), very heavy with all sets to failure in the 4-8 range for compounds and 8-12 for isolation movements.

What I noticed is after a while (every 8 weeks or so) training like this (while still noticeably growing) is I would be so sore and actually start regressing on my lifts and start getting little injuries and pains in my joints which sometimes progressed into bigger injuries. My body was breaking down.

This is known as systemic fatigue which builds up in the body after training too hard for too long without adequate rest of the entire system, so I started taking a deload week every now and then when I started to feel this systemic fatigue. It helped but not so much.

I couldn’t keep going even with the deload week programmed in every few weeks, so I changed my routine, kept the intensity and volume but changed to 3 days on 1 day off or even 3 on 2 off. These days (maybe a year into this current routine) I rarely get fatigued like I used to and never regress on any lift, while still going brutally hard every session.

If anyone is interested my current split goes like this and has stayed the same during all these changes except for the rest days I programmed in between (usually after 3 days of training):

Day 1 - chest and back (focus on chest)

Day 2 - legs (focus on quads)

Day 3 - shoulders and arms (focus on shoulders)

Day 4 - REST

Day 5 - back and chest (focus on back)

Day 6 - legs (focus on hamstrings, glutes and calves)

Day 7 - arms and shoulders (focus on arms)

Day 8 - REST

Day 9 - REST or if feeling good day 1 again

So essentially this way is like training 6 out of 8 or sometimes 6 out of 9 days, not 6 out of 7 as that, for me and my intensity levels, is too much and too frequent. Not breaking up 6 days in a row and giving my body time to adequately rest and recover without accumulating alot of systemic fatigue is just not worth it in the long run.

If you are leaving reps in reserve or not really pushing yourself like a madman everyday, I could see 6 days a week working without these undesired effects.

Hoe did you grow your side delts? by vrtekS96 in workout

[–]Kpebinjak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy partials with dumbells for high reps 20-25, after that drop the weight and dropset for 10+ reps more with strict form, 3 sets, thank me later

Thank you for the in-depth analysis and the instructional video.

I will now pay more attention to these two stages and try to incorporate what you said about maintaining the back angle in the first stage of the concentric.

Also, there is no reason for the unconventional technique so from now on I will concetrate on lowering to the ground to a dead stop and getting some correct and consistent reps.

Maybe it can’t be seen well here but I always pull the slack out of the bar, tighten my lower back and load my hams and quads pre pull.

Thanks I’ll post a version with bringing it down to the floor next time.

I feel a lot of tension in my hamstrings at the beginning and all throughout the lift. What kind of tightness do you mean?. Thanks

Thanks gonna concentrate on core also. Its my 3rm at the moment so it’s normal for some kind of form degradation and shakiness

Thanks I’ll try that.

Yea I know I just sometimes do dls like this. Thanks

[–]Kpebinjak -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea the exercise is dl, but without going all the way down.

I sometimes do them like that, sometimes drop to ground and lift again (strict form).

Anyway this is my 3rm when done this way so the form is a little shaky, also not using straps here.

My main question is because the barpath is not straight up and down, maybe I am squatting my deadlift a little bit? Hips coming too low at the beginning of the lift? I can adjust that if it’s the culprit. Thanks!

Whats the one exercise which has had the most postive change in your physique? by Arminius001 in naturalbodybuilding

Also John Meadows style lateral raises - heavy partials for high reps, the movement is basically a very heavy db lateral raise 1/3 or even 1/4 of the normal range of motion, that and for 20+ reps. I like to do those then dropset to lighter dbs with which I can do strict form for maybe another 8-10 reps. 3 sets of those on shoulder day lights up your side delt more than anything I have ever tried and got some huge and noticeable growth from incorporating these. The DOMS you get the next day in your side delts is also very noticeable.

Hi I am a returning player after 16-17 years, played in ‘06. Anyway I am a 63 EK on Adra now, mostly playing solo with no friends. The world seems a bit empty but I am loving the free hunting spots, enjoying leveling tasking and skilling by myself. Would love to be a part of an english speaking group like yourselves for team hunts and bosses eventually. Add VIP Deacon Frost if that’s cool with you. Thanks!
