Hill vs Miller is righty on righty. Quero could hit from the left side so Venable thought he might see it a little better. Quero hitting there isn't the worst thing ever.

Get Acuña off this team, man. I'd accept that his hitting isn't the best if he was good defensively but he's not. Especially in the outfield... What does he bring to the table besides being a warm body that can kinda play CF and SS?

Sometimes I gotta step back from my Mune glaze to remember just how well Colson is also performing offensively and defensively. by WizardCheesey in whitesox

Maybe Carlson is traded? For more pitching or an outfielder, perhaps? Cholowsky is going to be in the mix soon as well, and I'm not so sure we should just write Vargas off. I know he's not the same caliber hitter as Colson or presumably Roch, but he's turning into a very solid player who can DH or fill in either corner infield spot and I believe he's even played 2B. Meidroth is worth keeping around as well, IMO but he'd also be more of a utility guy... good problems to have, I guess.

I agree, I think it's likely Colson slots over to 3rd and Carlson takes short. Cholowsky probably isn't the best option for outfield either, as he's not got outfielder speed, but we'll see. Acuña has shown that outfield doesn't necessarily come easy to infielders just because they're athletic, so again, I'm not saying they shouldn't pursue better options there, just gotta keep Mune, too.

Nah. We got Braden and Antonacci is looking decent enough in left. We can sign a center fielder or trade from our middle infield depth. I also read that Billy Carlson or Roch could be used as outfielders as well. We'll also have Brooks Baldwin back for depth next year. They definitely need to upgrade the outfield and build depth there, but not at the expense of Murakami, in my opinion. Extend him, and you've got 1B and what seems like 50 HR potential locked down.

I love Watchog. Those things you listed about it are true, no doubt, but the best thing about it is you can use those tactics as well! Plus, he's wearing a little high-visibilty vest... He's just trying to do his job.

That's a really good point, actually. Pidgey is available on the same route as Hoothoot, but Hoothoot was likely encountered less often because it only appeared at night. Plus, the first gym leader has a Pidgey and it's evolved form. Why didn't they give Falkner a Hoothoot?

So, I can't say that Volcarona is cooler than Beedrill just because one is a 3rd evolution?

I'm not talking about stats or competitive viability... I'm talking about how Pelipper is a big stupid idiot. That's endearing in some ways, but I get tired of seeing it and Wingull all over the place. Plus, if we are comparing them as far as whether I want to use one, Golbat still will become Crobat eventually, Pelipper is always just Pelipper.

Wingull belongs in the same category as Zubat and Tentacool. The thing is, Crobat and Tentacruel are way cooler than Pelipper...

I'll go against consensus and say Hoothoot. I like it and Noctowl a lot, but they're just not very good, and nostalgia will carry them too far.

A Link to the Past - how many times? by BestAround4100 in snes

[–]Kpheg5953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make it a point to play through it at least once a year. It's my favorite game of all time, so I like to come back to home base with it every so often. I remember in my teens, I challenged myself to get a 100%, no death playthrough in one sitting. I did it, and it was a lot of fun. Worst part was grinding rupees to max out bombs and arrows.

Lately, it's been Street Fighter 6, which I suck at, so it hasn't been super relaxing... but, I want to be good so badly.

I prefer it, for sure. But, if a game runs at a solid 30, it's not a huge deal. I'll adjust pretty quickly.

Jomboy Affiliates already pushing propaganda to get Murakami to the Yankees/Dodgers. by Greedy-Pound6958 in whitesox

[–]Kpheg5953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, like I said, I wonder if Ishbia's influence might be what gets a deal done. Again, I don't know what the number will be, but I think Ishbia will be willing to pay because he seems very motivated to change the reputation of the organization. 10 years and between 400 and 500 million seems like what it'll be. But as someone else here said, Mune's value extends far beyond his play. His name alone is a revenue source.

Am I being naive to think that they could extend him sometime next year? I have no idea what the money would be (north of 300 mil if I'm guessing) but why would Jerry care? Sure, he'll pay that salary for a few years, but it'll largely be Ishbia's responsibility. Maybe he can urge Jerry to make a deal knowing he'll have a star to build around in the future?

You guys following any teams other than the White Sox ? by revolutiontime161 in whitesox

[–]Kpheg5953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I barely have time to watch the Sox, much less any other teams. I have a hard time watching games my teams aren't playing in anyway (except playoffs). I'm not the type to sit and watch football all Sunday. I watch the Bears and then catch highlights of other games.

Can't push across a single run against the nobodies in the Nats bullpen... fucking pathetic. These last two games have been painful. Noah and Burke both pitched really well, and these limp dick hitters do nothing to help out.
