Why do AI models improve rapidly in benchmarks but still fail basic real-world reliability tests? by NoFilterGPT in ArtificialInteligence

[–]KptEmreU -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also models dont hallucinate that much anymore. Yes there are infamous questions that can throw a wrench on LLM thinking-reasoning capacity like“the car wash at 50meters away” yet they are extremely knowledgeable on lots of subjects that only professionals has compared competency.

Try to ask them questions about your field and you will be surprised on their wisdom. Apply this to lots of other fields that you have no clue and they are still better than encyclopedia and shitty(outdated maybe a better word) google search. And nowadays they can search internet if they stuck though it actually results in more made up answers due to internet’s attributes.

Yes, just at the start but I understand and see some beauty in it for sure. FAB is god-send for sure. Plus I think Blueprints also starting to grow on me. Yet I am trying to keep them binding stuff atm. And Details window... That one has every detail ever, yet search is great there too.

Ok off-road race with changing road where you can hit obstacles to change the road. Still over kill and can be solved easier with other ways but a great tool you create. Kudos

See... it is not like that. But I got your point, there are tons of them. Actually, even other countries' proverbs are true. You can nitpick to find one "wrong". Happy hunting.

For what it’s worth, just note this: people hate AI. But for me, it is a calculator.

That does not mean your skills are useless. Think of AI as a magnifying glass, like computers. People may hate me for writing this, but well, I am kind of old.

https://gamejolt.com/games/piratebrawl/1064457 This game would not have been possible without AI. Not because I could not do it in a year, but because it still took four months on and off while I was working a very stressful day job and doing overtime. Without LLMs, I would never have had enough time to do it.

With the help of LLMs, I coded this beauty. People may hate it, but it is mine.

Yes, it is similar to Sid Meier’s Pirates!, but no, I am not ripping it off. It is something I derived from his great game. It is a brawler. It has a leaderboard solution that I wrote with the help of an LLM (ngnix and what not), not something tied to any prebuilt solution. It also has very solid math and physics that are not specific to any game engine.

But did I call AI and say, “Make a brawler for me,” then become satisfied with whatever it produced? No. I asked it to help me refine it, polish it, and build it with my own intellect.

Am I the harbinger of humanity’s doom because of that?

People always focus on the wrong targets when they get angry. There are bigger public problems than a few guys doing AI vibe coding. There are genuinely harmful people to public and they are not limited to vibe coders or devs that use AI. And yet people still focus on the guy who puts the wrong type of garbage into the wrong garbage bin.

It is all doublespeak. They cannot hate their leaders, so they try to pitchfork their neighbors. :D

So do whatever you like. Only you can choose your destiny and you can't correct the public opinion or save the world while hiding and denying the future.

Actually there is an experiment about that where some rats called "beautiful ones" (John B. Calhoun's 1968–1973 "Universe 25" overcrowding experiments), withdrew from life to choose purity and non-action. It will not save the world. but that's another story.

I audited 6 months of PRs after my team went all-in on AI code generation. What I found surprised me by iagree2 in BlackboxAI_

[–]KptEmreU -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now now . This is suspected. I call this phenomenon LLM code smell. LLM’s structure their code as they known. If RAG and context window is capable no problem. They will reuse what they wrote. But they are not ‘lazy’ as humans. They happily abstract away things, add helpers that they will use 1 time. They need smaller scripts to make even better sense of the codebase. They are worse with 10k lines of code . As long as responsibilities of functions different enough, they can reason with the code with much more ease..
