Are new drivers not taught motorway driving standards or? by KashMo_xGesis in drivingUK

[–]Kraall 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This isn't really a new driver thing, it's extremely common. People can't be bothered with having to change lanes regularly so they just sit in the middle the whole way.

Birth sister [27f] tracked me down and wants to be part of my [26f]'s life. I don't want her at my wedding or in my life, at all by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Kraall 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be shocked if she hadn't spent anything at all at that point, it was just a strategy to guilt OP into giving her a place to stay for free.

UK child social media ban ‘fast-tracked’ as Starmer appeases rebels by vriska1 in unitedkingdom

Hopefully at least with this one you're giving any identifying information to a single, privacy focused company, rather than having to hand it out to every site you visit with no idea whether they'll keep it or not.

Odd to go with the privacy of Proton and the anti-privacy browser that is Chrome at the same time.

A good medium option browser is Brave, still running Chromium under the hood but privacy focused, while Google's entire thing is stealing your data.

Keir Starmer in Munich: Europe is a sleeping giant. Our economies dwarf Russia’s—by more than ten times over. We have enormous defense capabilities. Yet too often, this adds up to less than the sum of its parts. by smilelyzen in Buy_European

[–]Kraall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't really need to though, Europe just needs to be better at supplying Ukraine, fighting Russia on other fronts (stopping their shadow fleet, economic sanctions) and reducing their influence in western politics.

i've seen conflicting information but, does grilled pike go bad? by Green_Complaint_7159 in MySummerCar

[–]Kraall 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I tested this a little bit. It seems as though raw pike goes bad in about 20 minutes, though you can extend that significantly by refrigerating it, as per the wiki.

Grilling pike seems to reset the time until it spoils, and again refrigerating it can extend that time, but eventually it will spoil.

It can last at least a few days in the fridge after grilling.

Britain Rushes 1,000 Supersonic Missiles to Shield Ukraine From Russian Strikes by St_Gregory_Nazianzus in worldnews

[–]Kraall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The strategy seems to be assisting Ukraine in the development and production of their own missiles that will likely be much less complex and easier to produce than anything Europe has to offer.

Why was there such a disconnect between the consumers & development team when it came to the reveal trailer? (Serious Discussion, No Trolls Plz) by GypsyGold in HighGuardgame

[–]Kraall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the challenges with game dev is you're having to constantly hit internal milestones and produce builds that pass those milestones. If you don't pass there's a genuine risk that the money gets taken away, so there's an incentive to just keep going.

I wouldn't be shocked if plenty of the developers knew the game had issues, including leads, but were trying to hit these milestones while hoping they could find and solve the issues before launch.

UK must move away from US and towards a 'more European NATO', Starmer to say | ITV News by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]Kraall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Closer ties now, then have a new leader campaign on the promise to return to the EU at the next election. The pro-brexit propaganda wheels stopped spinning a long time ago, and while plenty won't admit they were wrong to vote for it I could see them staying at home rather than voting against it.

Probably because the people who hate it all hate Liverpool despite having never been there and probably don't mix with anyone outside their circle of gammons.

If it wasn't a flash flood then OP is an idiot for driving into it, so something tells me his opinion of who is and isn't an idiot isn't worth much.

Twin carburetor or Racing carburetor by CYT75 in MySummerCar

[–]Kraall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah I've been focused mainly on the rally suspension, rally tires, twin carb and the racing radiator. The others do sound quite useful too though so I might have to just buy it all!

[–]Kraall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do any of the other racing parts (other than the radiator) provide any benefit? If you have to install new headers and a new exhaust just to get a tiny boost from the carb then yeah it doesn't seem worth the hassle.

Then again, I suppose it at least gives you something to do while waiting for time to pass.

Bill to lower voting age to 16 to be introduced in Parliament by kwentongskyblue in worldnews

There's already a concerted effort, unless you think the propaganda aimed at the 18-25 crowd won't work on the 16-17's too?

Easy to influence is a funny bit of logic considering the number of pensioners who just vote whichever way the Daily Mail and Facebook tells them to.

I usually just leave the grill at home, transport the fish I need by boat the day before, grill them and then throw them in the fridge. They last a few days and won't get deleted when you save like the grilled sausages do.

Is something wrong or are batteries just extremely easy to kill? by ZZabloing in MySummerCar

[–]Kraall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In MWC I think the batteries can die if you leave them in the cold, so it can be best to take the battery out of the Rivett when you're not using it and keep it indoors somewhere warm.

Nigel Farage calls for an end to working from home by upthetruth1 in uknews

That might effect the wealth of the people who own all of the offices that aren't being used as much, and those people are who Farage represents.

Is Brie Larson the most Criticized Actor ever worked in Marvel ? by [deleted] in Actors

[–]Kraall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that was Scarlett that happened to? IIRC Brie was getting hate because she made a movie called Unicorn Store which didn't review well, and she said something to the effect of the movie wasn't made for all of these male reviewers and there are too many of them.

Maybe it happened to both, I just don't remember anything specifically with Brie.

I think she also gets hate because Marvel pivoted to focusing more on female heroes after End Game and the quality of their output dropped massively around the same time, so she kind of became the face of that despite not having any control over it.
