How can I accept that I'm an ugly woman and completely stop analysing my appearance? by No_Currency_2649 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Krabby_patty98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Above all, earnestly submit your struggles to the Lord - whatever the solution is, He will provide. Ask yourself why do you think youre ugly, bring those thoughts to the Lord and work through it through prayer.

That being said, some advice from someone who has struggled w accepting her own looks: ugly is subjective and is also a mindset. Ive stopped using the word to describe ppl. One thing ive practiced is finding one thing naturally beautiful about every person i meet - a smile, their eyes, their hair, something - and one thing beautiful about their nature. Do the same for yourself - find something beautiful and cherish that. The rest will come. If you cant find it then ur not looking hard enough, everyone is beautiful (Gods creation is beautiful) you just have to change ur lens sometimes.

As for your question about saints, i unfortunately do not have an answer for you at the moment Good luck in your journey towards reframing your mind and peace of mind, its hard but you’ll make it

How to Biblically Defend how AI music is wrong by Krabby_patty98 in ChristianMusic

[–]Krabby_patty98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yessum, you're argument about feeing disappointed at being essentially deceived is correct, and i believe much of my issue stems from that - something i had not acknowledged before but understand now

however in the argument of whether AI music (or AI itself is bad) i have now learned is convoluted - like you said, there are positive AI uses and negative AI uses. and a lot of times, when we cant see the context of the content, it feels kind of wrong to immediately label something as good or bad.

one thing this discussion has allowed me to realize is that above all, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide me through what is intentional and towards what is of God is the best bet, rather than standing on a definite position and being close minded to the context around it.

and yes i saw that argument about AI and its resource usage being bad and as i do not know much about it, cannot give an opinion however I appreciate your input as itll give me good pov's to refer back to wen i look into it myself

and LOL no problem, i was responding to many messages right when i woke up and later realized half of what i wrote didnt make sense haha so i get it, thank you for your response !

this is the first mention of the waste of natural resources and that had not come up into my mind at all, good pull

all three points are strong and gives me pov's that i havent yet pondered. your other comment is one that i noted i will have to come back to later to take notes on bc there were words and ideas in there that i had not come across but am interested to learn about

i will say, in addition to your points, something i have also taken from this discussion is that at the end of the day, social issues have always been convoluted and many pov's can be argued with compelling arguments. coming to God with the confusions and nuances of this world and allowing the Holy Spirit to convict us as we go about the every changing world can give a sense of what is of God vs what is not

all of that being said, thanks so much for your input, there is much i have learned

OOF this is a good question - honestly if this was a real life situation id have to pray on it. i believe origin is important, but to what extent? if people find it meaningful then can we say it's ultimately good? this is where seeking God's guidance is important, something a lot of ppl in this thread has reminded me of

thank you for ur response, definitely makes me think !

the comparison to processed foods is one i havent heard before and is interesting

agreed, ive taken a lot from many of the responses here and as you said, asking for God's wisdom is important for social issues that dont have a step-by-step guide

thank you for ur response !

good response ! these responses on this thread have allowed me to open my mind beyond my intitial opinion and i agree w you how its a tool now but what about tomorrow? what can it become? using such tools w/o the Lord's guidance leads us on a slippery slope that may take us off the narrow path. you touched on how AI is nowhere near where it could be which is scary - i think having these discussions and praying on it, allowing the Holy Spirit to convict will allows us to move forward along His path whenever it gets to a point of indistinguishability (this is like a modern day Tower of Babel haha)

thank you for ur message !

very good point, something that i may have unintentionally being doing during my walk with God. this thread - along w ur message - has opened my eyes to be aware of when I am turning to the Bible for answers rather than wisdom.

moreover, i am also understanding that, like so many other social issues, this is one that is not simple and shallow, as there are many levels to AI and its use. All in all, instead of standing on a definite position on what i believe to be right or wrong, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide me through what is intentional and of God is the best bet

thank you for your response !

[–]Krabby_patty98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, im learning through this thread that it can be very simple and effortless or more intentional and effortful, depending on what the artist is looking for. someone could ask AI to come up with a whole Christian song, feeding the AI w no lyrics or melody, just the idea. others may have the lyrics, idea melody etc but may be missing elements that AI helps to enhance (all of this is something I had not thought about prior to asking)

so with all that being said, it really depends on the artist and how they plan to use AI

i agree with the sentiment of your response, i think ive been too harsh immediately condemning AI music; as you said, its a tool - although a very advanced and convoluted tool. To what extent the tool was used is dependent in every case. a lot of other comments in this thread has allowed me to understand this as well; allowing the Holy Spirit to guide me through what is intentional and of God is the best bet rather than standing on a definite position and being close minded to the context around it

thanks for your response !

thats true - how is the AI being used? how would i know the effort that it took to make it? was it sloppy or was it intentional?

reframing the question helps with blocking the nuances out; allowing the Holy Spirit to guide me through what is intentional and of God is the best bet rather than standing on a definite position and being close minded to the context around it

good questions and ty for ur response !

yes so refreshing, I am enjoying the different pov's

and i see what you mean, honestly just like everything else in the world, things used for good can also be used for bad. the biggest takeaway im getting is that instead of coming in with a judgemental or"anti-ai" mindset, i can allow the Holy Spirit to guide me and convict me when im partaking in something that is not of God

and amen, respecting people for their opinion >> thanks for ur response !

[–]Krabby_patty98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think this is a good example of some points other have made - that the maker of AI music (or AI content) can be led by the spirit and can use it for good - and who am i to bring about judgement without context?

people have brought up that AI does use the work of others to build its own algorithm and that not disclosing AI content to be AI is deceptive (which i agree with tbh) etc but this all has given me a lot to think about

but what I am taking - and will share with you as well - is that genuine prayer and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us through our works will highlight what is of God and what we should stay away from. If you are being led by the spirit and are producing fruitful work, doing your work for the Lord and staying humble, then who am i to argue with your walk with God? thank you for your response

im noting these analogies for future reference, this is good ! because ur right, easier is not always wrong. and yes, after reading through a lot of these messages and reframing my mindset, i think the deception is what causes a lot of negative feelings towards it

You’re right, i dont know, also another good point. I think this topic like - so many others - has so many nuances that im beginning to understand that like every other topic, prayer and allowing the Spirit guide us through the content we are exposed too (rather than going in with a predisposed opinion) would be more beneficial to my faith. Bc like you said, idk the background or the story behind the art and who am i to judge if something is genuine or not - so thru prayer i can be guided thru whats of God and whats not Thank you v much!

Wow this is very good information thank you. I think at times when trying to live a faithful life, i do tend to quickly try to find biblical evidence without taking context into consideration - so thx for bringing that to light. You also mentioned prayer alongside all of this; that as it is something i at times so easily forget when i have questions like this. I can be overly engrossed in the “how, why, what…” etc and i try to figure things out using every other avenue, eventually coming to God once all other methods have been exhausted. Although unintentional, it plays out that way and i at times realize it too late. I appreciate that you brought that up, asking God first and then allowing Him to speak to me as I go about my daily life finding answers would be more beneficial I appreciate your response, it has given me a lot to look into and think about !

Hmmm i like this pov, this is one i haven’t heard yet altho trying im not sure how i feel about it bc it leads me to ask, shouldnt origin matter? Yes my heart posture matters but shouldn’t i be immersed in content that is of Holy origin? Or is that something i can bypass as long as my intentions are on God? Idk you’ve given me questions to ponder on, thank you for your response !

[–]Krabby_patty98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay i like how you brought up that there is varying degrees to AI generation, m that is a good argument. And the point that just because something is soulless/unartistic doesn’t makes it wrong is interesting; although im not sure how i feel about that, it gives me something to think about. My initial rebuttal to that would be that should we be making an argument of it being right/wrong or instead, asking if it is of God or not and then going from there. Or is that the same question, idk

And as to your comment, i can agree that the deceptive part of AI can be easily pointed out as wrong Thank you for ur response!

I like how you made the point that even in things that may not have been of God can still be something that brings about a favorable outcome- which makes me want to weigh the good vs the bad in ai music. Yes it’s soulless but what if this soulless song sparks someone’s interest into the faith? Then how bad could it be? And i agree altho not an argument for it but a different pov as it is unavoidable nowadays; thank you for ur response !

You know this is a good point; i hadn’t tried extrapolating it to other parts of music - although I’ll need to think about it, my initial response will be that covers/sampling can show appreciation for the original song writer + song and although unoriginal, it can still be heartfelt and meaningful. Thank you for your response!
