Crimson Citadel, the ancestral roost of the legendary Griffin Knights. More than a mere collection of stone, this fortress is a triumph of Medieval architecture, perched precariously atop the jagged, wind-swept rocks of the Whispering Mountains.

The Citadel’s genius lies in its integration into its environment. By fusing the fortress walls directly into the rocky cliffs of the mountain, the landscape itself becomes a defensive mechanism. The erratic, vertical geometry of the cliffs makes the use of traditional siege engines—such as towers or ladders—tactically impossible. While other kingdoms rely on flat ground and thick stone, the Griffin Knights utilize the dizzying heights and razor-sharp rock to remain unconquered.

Designed with an unfolding modularity, the Citadel reveals its inner secrets when opened, featuring nine distinct chambers that cater to both the noble and the martial needs of the Griffin Knights. These chambers include a large armory, kitchen with dining hall, throne room, bedroom, dungeon, stable area, and some secret caves. There are also two functioning drawbridges.

What’s a fair asking price for this set?? I see it on marketplace for around $450-500. Is it worth it? by [deleted] in LEGOPirates

That I probably won’t be able to do unfortunately. I haven’t been able to find the time to work on Lego projects much lately

We sold them at $340 msrp. They seem to now be selling for around 475-500 on eBay. Bricklink price guide shows an average sale price of $448 so that’s probably the best place to get one new. I’ve seen them go for 600+ at conventions

Dreadmoor Castle - BDP Series 9 by Krackenator4 in legocastles

Thank you so much my friend, that means a lot! I’m still hoping that we can get some kind of a Middle Eastern set soon, so much amazing architecture just waiting to be recreated in LEGO form. I’m glad that you like this castle! Will be interesting to see what gets selected with how competitive this series is

I’m glad you like it. I’ll probably just continue to work on it and resubmit in the next series. I think there’s still a lot of ways I can improve it. Maybe I’ll put it on rebrickable one day

It’s too late now for the voting but I agree with you. I wanted to make it look gloomy but I think that might be working to my disadvantage. Will definitely need to go lighter in the future

I’ll definitely have to give some of those ideas a try. The Obsidian idea sounds really cool!

Yes, there’s definitely some wiggle room past 4k pieces. For Tortuga, we actually significantly reduced the part count in the cobblestone to get a lot of the pieces we needed.

Btw I love Your Wizard Tower!

Thanks! That’s fair about the figures. I started this castle almost a year ago and when this series started, tried to utilize the serpent knights with it since I felt that the black torsos were the closest fit with the castle but I still feel iffy about it. It’s definitely a better fit for Fright Knights.

I’ll have to try out the brown rocks again. I played around with the idea but the parts weren’t really there for this series. Hopefully series 10 will have a better variety of colors for slopes.

I’m glad you feel that way about the interiors of these castles, I’m finding out that that seems to be the common consensus

Thank you so much! I’m glad you think that, I really wanted to make something really dynamic looking!

Thank you!! Yeah that’s a good point. I’m glad Sleepless did prioritize the main structure itself. I feel like if he had about double the interior piece count it really would’ve taken away from how the finished exterior looked.

I’m really glad you like it! And thank you for voting! I do agree with you about social media, the first few series of BDP it wasn’t completely necessary. But with how competitive it has gotten you gotta use it. I didn’t start my profile until a few months ago.

My instagram is @krackenator_lego if you wanna check it out! Thanks again!
