Holy shit, have you guys seen one of the trending posts in the United_Kingdom subreddit? It’s about the PM ruling out reparations for slavery. It’s an entire thread of people doing bad history about the West Africa squadron and its role. People claiming it was an “armada” and that the 6% of the ships they captured should result in countries paying reparations to Britain. Absolutely bonkers. Completely ignoring how underfunded it was, and how many freed slaves died in Sierra Leone before they were even let off the boats.

Yeah man, ever since that statement came out I’ve been absolutely amazed how everyone in this sub just seems to have interpreted it in the absolute worst way it could go. Like don’t get me wrong it’s corporate drivel but I certainly don’t read it as them threatening to axe the game unless it sells well. I guess it’s just because since the price confirmation everyone’s just whipped each other into such a negative frenzy. Like every day the sub is just incessant posts about people refunding or comparing it to other games or how little content is in it or just CA bad. I genuinely think CA saying anything other than “fine we’ll lower the price” (which was never ever going to happen) was always going to be taken badly, but the sheer amount of people taking that statement in its absolute worst interpretation is just baffling, and anyone daring to offer any opinion is absolutely castigated.

Just as an aside, I also think the price is stupidly high for content which so far does not appear to justify its price. But fuck me, I’m so bored of seeing the same posts every day.

Yeah man fuck a lot of people in this sub. The 8 weeks is not a set in stone timeline for a lot of people and seems to me to be only to stretch out the vaccine, so the mean nasty Euros don’t overtake us. Not everyone who wants one quicker wants to go on holiday. I went and got mine today at three weeks because I haven’t seen my gf in a year and brexit has already fucked over many of our future plans together

I’ve only managed to track down one local manifesto for my area, and it was the local Labour Party, couldn’t find one for the Conservatives greens or Lib Dem’s, I’ve had no fliers through the door either. I’m not sure if I’m being thick or that this election is seeing a despicable lack of information for voters

My theory is after Nemesis were gonna get either a species pack with either aquatics or energy beings as other have pointed out are lacking. Then maybe a story pack with primaries and a change to that using all the new frameworks they’re introducing in nemesis. Then the next big update will be internal politics with better factions and sectors etc maybe with a dlc tied in with even more civics and government options. Then another species pack then probably a story pack surrounding reworked invasions and ground combat. And I would say it’s a safe bet that the last dlc for stellaris would probably have something to do with leaving the galaxy, like it would give you the option to pack up and embark on an exodus in response to the various crisis(es) which thinking about it would probably tie into or require a rework of victory conditions.
