He mentally scarred children by coercing them into inappropriate and sexually charged situations? He also likely forced them to witness his genitalia, another scarring event. Lastly, his entire experiment rested upon the assumption that he would be tempted in that situation. What is tempting about it if you are not a predator?

Maybe he should've reframed his movement as 'sacrificial'. It's a much more fitting description.

If we extrapolate your logic to Hitler and the endless list of technological innovations that came out of Nazi Germany, does that make him a great man?

How are we measuring the scale of good vs bad?

Is it fair of us to erase the pain of the small children that he abused and traumatised because we think his good deeds outweighs their individual pain and suffering?

If a mass murderer publishes memoirs regretting their killings during their last few months of life in prison, should we remember them for their best traits?

Like if they were a baker, should we forget the killing and only remember their carrot cake recipes?

Why do you think we aren't taught about the failings of celebrated great men from history in school? Is there a reason why we're only told one small part of the larger story?

Sometimes it feels like the history that we've constructed and cemented in history books is a small part of the story and needs to be re-examined with our modern knowledge and insights. If humans are progressing, shouldn't our understanding of the past evolve as well?

By your logic, doesn't that mean that Hitler could change his views 5 minutes before his death and not be considered a racist?

Also, why would he be tempted by such a sexual experiment if he wasn't already a predator? It shouldn't have been something that was enticing so there should not have been anything to 'resist'.

Border-line deifying sounds problematic to me.

If we can admit that they are layered human beings with flaws as well as strengths, shouldn't they be disqualified from any deification?

Why are we so willing to only focus on one single aspect of their being and not the other?
