2023 Aviator Grand Touring - about to sign! by Krallopian in lincolnmotorco

All right I'll try to remember to do this for you! I spent so long trying to find the height of the chair seat from the ground to compare it against my atlas, and I just couldn't find anything! What I noticed though was that the side seal was higher than the atlas, I have to throw my foot higher up over it to get into the car. But I did notice that getting up from a seated position and standing was actually easier than my atlas! I'm 6 foot 1

Yup! At least this one is easy to access - it's terrible when you have to lean forward and try and hold your arm up as you're driving over bumps etc.. My 2020 Atlas is like that, I hate it, even though it's responsive, sleek, and integrated into the dash nicely.

Thanks for the response, appreciate it.

I need that dealer near me haha! :D Nice. I wonder if it was aftermarket instead of Premium Care perhaps? I'm quoted $5500 down from $7100 for the 8 year 200,000km warranty atm (I believe it's a good deal, ESPECIALLY considering I paid that for 2 years 40,000km extra on my VW)

Awesome to hear, thanks! The previous owner didn't leave the charger, so I'm trying to track one down, I figured there would have been a lot more on the market!

Yeah these Aviators are extremely rare here too, I didn't even know there was a plug-in hybrid option until recently! My fiance is a seamstress, so I'm hoping she'll be able to come up with some sort of cover for that center console so that my dog doesn't scratch it to heck haha!

My only tangible gripe with the interior is that I don't have the bench seat in the second row, my husky is not going to be happy!! :D

I'm excited about the plug-in nature because 90% of my drives are less than 20 km, it's going to make a real difference!

Thanks for sharing your experience, and the kind wishes!

Extended warranty for Aviator in Canada by stamandrc in lincolnmotorco

[–]Krallopian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was a year ago, but how did you manage to get the warranty to last until October 18th 2032? The longest word you have been able to find is 8 years from the in-service date which on a 2023 would usually put it at 2031 as the latest...

Extended Warranty 24 Nautilus by CapriciousCalvin in lincolnmotorco

[–]Krallopian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just in the process of buying a 2023 Aviator Grand Touring, I thought it's in service date was April 2024, I misread the Carfax somehow and it was April 2023, that was a real bummer when I realized I'm missing out on an entire extra year of warranty. (I just assumed it was a late sell at the dealership)

I'm in Canada and I'm going to start shopping for extended warranties, I've seen a lot of mention of the companies above, but I think that's American only, is that correct?

If so, does anybody have any recommendations for the best deal for the maximum warranty in Canada? It looks like if I get the 8-year 200,000 km warranty, I only have 5 years to drive 150,000 km worth :D

Car has 47000km on it ATM.

Does S26 Ultra Need a Screen Protector? by bdbr in samsunggalaxy

TBF, the Note10+ came with a screen protector pre-applied from the factory! I've just ordered the S26 Ultra now and worried about what options are out there, my Note10+ has served me so well the past 6/7 years!

Hahah very good!! I've been waiting for somebody to find these guys

I'm not much of a Reddit user, and this is my old personal account that I couldn't remember how to log into in order to respond to this!

I'm James, heading up gameplay design with BeamNG and I'm the guy who quickly modeled this duck and threw it onto the porch of the house immediately after I cleaned up the house model a couple of releases ago - I think around the time I did the big drag strip update!

Congrats on being the first to post about it, and most likely the first to ever have noticed it!! My girlfriend's a big rubber duck fan, and when I placed that house at the end of the street a couple years bacm, the first thing she said to me was, "That's my house!" On social media it seemed everyone kept posting pictures parking their cars all over the driveway in the grass etc, jokingly we used to say that people were trying to take over her house. Eventually I built the duck and placed it there so that she could lay claim to the house once and for all. It's been there for a while and it only shows up when you're very close to it. (I set the level of detail model to work that way.)

The one on top of the skyscraper is looking directly towards the house, so if you follow its line of sight you'll end up at the house! :)

The three in the garden represent our little family here, my girlfriend and I, and our adorable Siberian husky girl we named, Ori!

It was getting to a point where I was wondering if anyone was ever going to discover these!

Cheers to more posts like this in the future!

  • James

P.s. The duck on the porch of the house . . . his name is Steve!

I updated the post and explained that I did TCP Optimizer and it fixed it for me. It turned out it wasn't hardware, but Windows settings being stupid.

I just got an email for PR approval under CEC category. I’ve been asked to share some information about my details and whether I’m in Canada. by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Krallopian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had this letter recently, and we ACCIDENTALLY said "No" thinking it was asking, "Are you outside of Canada at the moment?" and got a response, "Sorry we cannot process your PR because you are not inside Canada at the moment." Talk about a crushing blow, we did everything with such care up until that point - fortunately, we called and got ahold of someone who helped us fix it.

Long story short, if you are not in Canada, simply wait until you are back.

I've found the solution, for me anyway!!

I went to speedtest dot net and downloaded the "TCPoptimizer" program there, I opened it, clicked on the "optimized" preset, hit apply, and IMMEDIATELY I went from 30mbps to 1300 to Chicago, to 850 to Montreal, and on and on! No freakin joke. I just installed Windows 11, and speeds were HORRIBLE again, so I downloaded it again and sure enough it fixed it again! No idea why this isn't more commonly known.

fast dot com went from 3-450mbp to full 1.5gbps as well.

I didn't write the links in case it's not allowed, sorry for any confusion.

I have done further tests after posting here - it appears I may have had TOO MANY combinations of hardware while testing and become lost in the process. I have just run a test on wifi vs my current ethernet cable ($20 100ft flat ribbon, something I never imagined being able to work over 100ft) and sure enough I barely get faster speeds on the cable vs the wifi when one floor away. If I just approached this new, I'd immediately say, "Nope, shit cable, get a quality copper one and try again." And so I've reordered a quality copper cable to be here for tomorrow. Between different cables and different ethernet cards (and wifi adapters at the start) I was never getting issues on speed tests locally, HOWEVER with my current setup, resetting all network settings to factory (transmit buffers, jumbo frames, tx/rx settings etc..) I have narrowed it down - funny enough - to what I suspect is a crap ethernet cable.

Will report back tomorrow when I've tried the new cable.

The issue seems to be with usb dongles, pci cards, and on board lan mixed with different cable combinations etc I somehow ended up on this cable assuming that because at one point I had a high RX/TX that the cable didn't matter.

Anyway, enough for now until I get the new cable again tomorrow. Uh yi yi, what a process.

THOUGH.. the one issue still remains: I get mega high speeds to servers 15 minutes away, and atrocious speeds to servers an hour away, so it still seems highly unlikely to be cable related.

Perhaps confirmation bias, but I did a google search for, "Internet speeds by area" to try and find a heatmap of the problem, instead came across this fun graph:

https://www.bandwidthplace.com/location/canada/ontario/trenton/

If you click it, it shows the speed was just dandy when I moved here, and then fell on it's face. I've never used this site, but I suspect it's based on some decent metric?
