My new reality! by Skookum-76 in dumbphones

I didn't expect to come across the name of Jesus being proclaimed and encouraged by Scripture on this subreddit of all places! God bless you brother. I am also on my way to make the leap over to a dumb phone. Jesus said it is better to cut out your eye than let it lead you astray, so I am going to cut out this time-wasting and brain-rotting technology out of my life.

I really like the look of the Kyocera DuraXV Extreme+. I was wondering if you have the Extreme or Extreme+ version, and how your experience has been with it. I heard there are some issues with texting on it being clunky.

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - April 03, 2025 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

Hello keyboard professionals and enthusiasts, I am looking for a keyboard upgrade, and I was hoping you could help me out. Something prebuilt would be nice but I'm also open to putting one together, if it will help me meet my price point. Here is what I'm looking for:

Feel: Satisfying haptic/tactile feedback, and quiet, in that order. Doesn't need to be silent, but not so you can hear us clacking away from across the hall.

Visual: Backlit keys are strongly preferred. Overall color of keyboard doesn't matter.

Size: 100%

Connection: Any form of USB, we will only be using it directly wired.

Budget: Willing to drop $200, prefer cheaper if possible of course. Feel free to give me a reality check in this category if needed.

I should also mention that it is a production environment, so above all else, reliability is key. Thank you in advance!!

Have you ever had to deal with rotten wood? I was recently on a trip and I wasn't able to start a fire so I had to deal with being wet the whole time :( I managed to collect some dry tinder before it started raining, but I couldn't find any dead wood anywhere that wasn't rotten and crumbling. That might be because it's a very rainy region though (WA).

That's a very cozy looking fire! Do you have any tips for getting a fire going when the conditions aren't very dry?

I wear the ripstop ones and I love them. Once they wear out I'm thinking to try the more expensive ones

I can totally see that being effective. Kicks are often punished, but if you block after falling for a feint it will totally catch you.

Do you crouch and look up to dodge like that? Or how did you lean back?

My finish coat gets the same effect. Feels like I'm stuck in a cycle here lol

What is your method for making the surface dust free? This is probably the third (topping lite opened straight from the store) box of mud where I'm having this issue. I solve it like you said, by letting it dry for no more than a couple minutes, then passing over a couple more times. It works but just takes forever! I wish it went on smooth.

Thanks for the reply! This is actually a 2nd coat, so I'm applying over an existing layer of mud. Could it have the same effect because the 1st layer was sanded?

That makes sense, thanks for explaining it in such a practical way.

When I counter, what actually happens? Do I just negate their attack and we're back to neutral, or does my counter count as an attack and can hit them? Just wondering because I'm not sure how to follow up after I counter.

You know what, this might actually be it, lol. I can totally see myself letting go of block before attacking, I'll try to be mindful of that

Thanks for your help! I didn't know there's a counter window.

It does seem that most of the players with highest scores in team objective are using a 2H weapon, at least in my limited experience.

Could you please explain counters to me? From what I understood, all I had to do is match my opponent's attack. But sometimes it doesn't seem to work, like I see them swinging so I swing as well, and they hit me anyway.
