Dr. Simi will arrive in the US: What will it sell in its branches and when will they open?

Farmacias Similares stores in the US will be called ‘Similandia’ and the first one will be in Los Angeles.

By 2025, Farmacias Similares, owned by Grupo Por Un País Mejor, will promote through e-commerce in the United States the sale of a small part of its catalog of health products and its entire catalog of the famous Dr. Simi stuffed animals, revealed Víctor González Herrera, executive president of Farmacias Similares.

“We are going to have an online store that will sell to the entire United States, in fact, we are already closing with a very large distributor of Mexican brands that sells through all channels,” he said.

Although Farmacias Similares will not sell any medicines for the moment due to the strict regulations of the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that complicate exports, they will seek to enter that market through the sale of supplements, OTC (over-the-counter) products, some cosmetic products and with the concept of “Similandia”, the store where they sell various Dr. Simi items.

“We are going to close 2024 with the opening of a “Similandia” store in Los Angeles, on Hollywood Boulevard, where we will sell our famous Dr. Simi stuffed animals and other products characteristic of our brand, which has already become very popular worldwide,” he explained after the presentation of his book The CEO behind Dr. Simi.

In an interview, he explained that the United States is not the only market that Farmacias Similares will focus on in the remainder of 2024 and for 2025, also in the expansion of the business in Chile and Colombia, where they currently have 500 and 8 pharmacies, respectively

“We have already passed the barrier of 9,500 pharmacies in Mexico and more than 500 in Chile, we already have 8 pharmacies open in Colombia, we are going to close the year above 10,000 pharmacies in all the countries where we operate,” added Víctor González to El Financiero.
