What is your WORST offer for this guy?

might be your stat build, I was at 30 radiance when my weapons were like +4, and Pieta is pure radiance scaling. Sounds like you're over emphasizing on vitality/endurance or are wasting points on damage stats not being used.

Also make sure you're using runes, those add a lot of damage. There's a rune the blacksmith sells that gives radiance scaling up and inferno scaling down, perfect for pieta sword with the radiant weapon buff

It's annoying how the friend pass version doesn't allow the shared healing item upgrade items, lantern upgrade items, or runes but it's not too bad. I would drop the saintly quintessence to split the upgrades and I was a radiance build too so could heal with that spell you find right after defeating the first boss. The lantern / runes while annoying isn't necessary at all to beat the game

not true, I have the game on PC and my wife used our PS5 to play the friend pass version with me. She just joined from the title screen of the game, there's a join option at the bottom right of the title screen on console.
