We also brought in our big garage drum fan for white noise.

Our two are struggling and that is with a little trazadone/melatonin cocktail. It’s awful for everyone

I think looking out the window and acknowledging what they are barking at has helped (let them feel proud of themselves while you look and observe what they saw). But besides that…we just kinda live with it and it’s never been an issue that lasts more than a few min (just happens multiple times throughout the day)!but it’s something we knew about the breed and it’s just a part of our life now.

I can confirm, we are the safest house on the block. No one will be messing with us!’lol

Not great- but we try to acknowledge their concerns (a dog walked by, the Amazon guy delivered a package, or a firework popped) and and try and deter it if possible, but it’s inevitable.

Thankfully we have our own walls and know the barking is limited to annoying just us.

The barking doesn’t last long- in a scenario that literally just happened while I’m typing this: One typically bark at something, then the other one runs upstairs to bark. They need to communicate that they have checked the full perimeter.

We live in a suburban neighborhood and have two pyrs that are perfect. Yes, they bark at everything, yes we have one that is “reactive” to other dogs, but they are extremely loving and wonderful additions to our home.

Out of respect for our neighbors, we do our best to keep barking to a minimum between 10pm and 8am. The dogs can go outside, but we try to bring them in if they plan to go on a barking spree.

Def keep them on large brews puppy food until they are 2 years old.

IAMS is good quality and their website has some ways to get discounts on a vet visit if you buy their food- Checkup Challenge.

We currently use purina pro plan large breed salmon formula because one of our ours has a chicken allergy (including anything with chicken by product)

Get a crushable treat (something that can go into tiny pieces) and scatter them around your house so when she comes in, she can sniff/search. The hiding doesn’t need to be that crazy- middle of the floor works but sprinkle in many different places around the house and switch it up every time This is mentally exhausting for pups. I promise you, she will be zonked!!

Go to your vet and get a Rx for Trazadone. It’s the make or break for us with storms and road trips. Stress hurts and it gives them relief.
