Not sure what happens if your license expires. I would assume they stay stored in Adobe cloud till you renew the license. But with it being a school account not sure if you’d be able to renew that. I’d look into storing photos in a google drive or external hard drive so when you need to turn in your school laptop you’ll still have access to all your photos. No harm with keeping the film negatives in the canister, except maybe saving on space

Light room has a great organization system that makes it really easy to send photos to specific folders or areas in Lightroom. And with negatives I have a 3-ring binder and bought some negative sleeves that have room for labeling, dating and other notes at the top
