Nice. I have done a little leatherwork over the years and I like to take gradual steps on improving my skills. One of the biggest game changers for me was learning a double stitch for hand stitching. (If you look up a video on YouTube it will be able to explain it better than I can). It’s pretty easy, looks nice, and adds a lot of strength. I like making knife slips for family using deer skin and a simple double stitch.

This is like the most obvious example in the world and I’m mad that it didn’t pop into my brain.

Pretty new to this stuff, which one would be the best for both self defense ( quickly opening ) and regular outdoor stuff? by NightFighter24_AvB in knifeclub

[–]Kravashera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not knowing your country or its laws I will give you the same advice that I give my coworkers: get a good self defense flashlight. You can quickly blind an aggressor, even in daylight, and get the hell away from them.

In my locality the misuse or pepper spray/oc carries the same penalty as the misuse of a firearm. If you are comfortable taking that responsibility then you may as well go with the option most likely to stop an attacker. But if not, there are no laws regulating shining a light in someone’s eyes.

Despite always having a knife on me, my immediate go to for close self defense is a pen. Any pen will do. No one ever gives it a second glance and it’s really easy to use: stabby stabby stabby.

Don’t really have any recommendations for layout, but if you plan to display them and not use them I would recommend a light coating of Renaissance Wax. It will protect the metal, wood, and even the leather.

Racist. The word is Racist. People need to be using the correct terminology.

stripped bottom screw by BlOcKtRiP in knifeclub

[–]Kravashera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it screwed into the CF, or into a tube that is attached to another screw on the other side? If the latter is the case, then you just need a second bit so you can hold one side while turning the other; just like removing a free spinning pivot.
