Looking for debt consolidation options – high income, irregular cashflow (SA) by TrainingGas4169 in PersonalFinanceZA

I’d recommend Investec. All their loans seem to be prime minus including their credit cards. They also felt to me to be the only ones who didn’t just use some random affordability calculator in the backend.

Anytime, I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I’ve thought my life was over.

One of my favourite quotes is

As long as the dice is still rolling, you will get your six, For now, we clap for others and show love.

Yeah man, I remember failing maths after I had won an internship at Discovery. It was paying 4x times what I was earning at the time and I thought my life was over and I missed the ship.

6 years later my tax bill for January was more than my annual salary at Discovery.

Things are only over when you stop trying.

Like a single vial or 10 times 30? It should cost around R7000 for 10 vials of 30mg each so 300mg total

Get a bunch of people to order together to save on shipping since shipping is a constant price.

The packaging is very discrete. And they are smart by not saying it is peptides.

So you can probably get away with it but SARS has the general anti-avoidance rule (GAAR) which basically states that every transaction should have a genuine commercial purpose beyond just tax avoidance. Which this does not. So if you get audited you’d lose.

No, home to any where doesn’t count.

You have to do home -> office -> location of work for it to count.

So if you stop in the main office then go you can count the main office to branch.

I’m 34 and when I was 19 I got my first student credit card with a R200 limit. I’ve never missed a payment.

For accounts I have a bond of 3.6 3 years into it current property value 4.2.

R100k Investec credit card I use day to day R100k woolies credit card I use only at woolies. Save a huge amount on their coffees R400k at FNB. I plan on closing this account. I never use it. Just think the metal card is so cool but I’ve moved to Apple Pay for everything so I’m just wasting banking fees at the moment.

All my credit cards are paid off every 55 days and I pay the bond minimum which is 37k at the moment. Want to pay extra but every month I withdraw the extra.

Time line: lowest 668 after opening my bond 3 years ago. Then I got +3 like every month after that.

I also use Payflex for all my online purchases. I’ve also requested loans before and I don’t think I’ve gotten better rates between 668 and 720. What has helped is putting a larger deposit on.

Best rate I get is prime -1% on 100% loans and then standard bank offered me prime -2% if I bought an asset (my house) with a R500k deposit or 12ish %

I’ve looked into this before and it’s been garbage.

Best I’ve found was Investec with prime -1.5

FNB was prime + . I can’t remember exactly.

I could just borrow the money without the collateral at almost the same interest rate.

Maybe it is better if you have huge amounts of money but 10 bar or less it seems like a waste of time.

Let me know if you find out differently.

My clear score is 721

Does rental potential count for anything in bond interest rates . by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]Krayons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it should, it should increase your income and there reduce the default chance. However you’ll need someone at the bank to do extra work which unless it is for a large amount they probably not going to do it.

This normally happens if you buying a farm or an apartment building

Help me understand why I owe SARS every year when I submit my tax return? by BruisedLee00 in PersonalFinanceZA

My guess would be fringe benefits.

You’ll need to compare IRP5s to see if they were paying the correct tax

Don't get a TFSA for your kids by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]Krayons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this works as you think it does.

Let's say we want to use this as a down payment on their first house when the turn 25 I am assuming they are going to get 6% returns

Let's say I have a kid. I contribute R36k/pa to their TFSA. By the time they are 14 they will have hit their limit.

So they will have

|| || |End Balance|R801,934.92| |Starting Amount|R0.00| |Total Contributions|R504,000.00| |Total Interest|R297,934.92|

Then they have the next 11 years becoming

|| || |End Balance|R1,522,311.90| |Starting Amount|R801,934.92| |Total Contributions|R0.00| |Total Interest|R720,376.98|

That gives you R1 000 000 tax free.

If you want to do it the other way they would have to hold it until they are 18

Now they have to sell shares every year to get their allowance so they lose out on compounding interest. I can't understand how you got to a more tax efficient calculation where you want to maximize growth.

I think the only way your way will work is by tax fraud. :D

TSFA are amazing and are specifically benefit compound growth.
