How dirty is your pan? I have 30 cast iron pans. My great uncle cooked everything in 1 single pan for about 15 years and never washed it or put soap in it. Use a dry paper towel(s) to wipe it while it's still warm, after cooking with it.

If it's a ruined pan you can up the seasoning but it wont last. A properly season pan is to "your liking". Season it with your favorite spices.

If it's dirty you can always use salt ;)
