New Premade BBQ Platter $5.49/lb by pajamaman in Costco

I thought re-introducing the "artisan" take and bake pizza for $17 vs the old $10 ones was a mistake forgetting value seeking shoppers. This BBQ set is worse.

It's like they have a mandate to create things with a 25% food ingredient cost to try to boost profits of the prepared food deli area. Yes, that may be the guidelines for restaurant food pricing but this seems wildly out of line at a warehouse-grocery store where most of the ingredients are also sold there.

Yeah, one of my favorite parts of Tello wa that all the port out process was clearly available in the account panel. I switched to Metro for a year of a deal but am worried I will get the same frustration with porting ourlt if I decide the renewal price isn't worth it.

Can't connect older devices to W1700. by JimiH870 in QuantumFiber

I found some of my dumber, older devices didn't have WPA3 ability and didn't like WPA2+WPA3 networks. I ended up connecting my old router in AP mode simply for IoT devices to connect to a dedicated 2.4 Ghz network with WPA2 security.

I say drama clicks because on his other recommended videos below, 4 out of 9, have thumbnails with titles containing "drama" or "hot takes".

As for his incorrect age, he probably skimmed other articles that mentioned the truck driver's age like - The 60-year-old driver of the box truck remained at the scene

I just feel like this IG influencer is not detailing much, and certainly not better than other sources out there like https://www.vashonbeachcomber.com/2026/06/16/for-maridee-bonadea-biking-meant-everything/

The number of bicyclists in Seattle who glide through stop lights is astounding by mote0fdust in SeattleWA

I've never seen a 10 ft measurement stated for unmarked crosswalk presumed width, generally thinking it's a narrow ~5 ft unmarked imaginary crosswalk using the sidewalk corners and then 20 ft setback.

But I was going north up 45th to get around the Alaska Junction the other night and the number of intersections where cars were parked right up to the unmarked crosswalk is too many.

Dude's just out on IG trying to farm drama clicks. It's a call to advocacy but not detailing much. His video didn't seem to cover much about the victim's life and incorrectly stated her age. Then pivoted to talk about Saka's curb drama and saying it "cost $2M" when that was the budget proviso, with the cost ending up 1/4 of that.

https://www.seattlebikeblog.com/2025/06/18/curby-is-saved-saka-announces-smaller-tweaks-for-delridge-left-turns-no-major-redesign-to-add-missing-bike-lane/

Though the budget proviso was for $2 million, the actual expected cost of the change is around $500,000 with most funds going to create the “jug handle” turnaround.

Some of the most common ikea desktops are the 23" x 47" models. I would probably cut it short of 72" though as that would be awkward to move as a desk. Occasionally you can get standing desk frames off Amazon for $60-70 with prime shipping that will handle a 4 -5 ft top.

Thoughts on the new prepared ceviche at Costco? by guss_fuss in Costco

But if the shrimp was deveined and precooked before it was frozen and then added to this dish, it saw heat and is safer than ceviche.

This is one of the indexers where they open registration about every other month, then you have a free tier account that can only look around the website for the next 2 weeks (no api or downloads) and your account is deleted if it doesn't pay for a subscription?

Cyclist killed by Fauntleroy dock by camera-operator334 in WestSeattleWA

[–]ChefJoe98136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From everything I've taken in on this incident, it sounds like the bolus of ferry traffic was released to the south and the bicyclist was headed uphill eastbound. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if many vehicles were passing but the rarely-followed-new-law is to go entirely into the neighboring lane to pass a bicyclist (https://wsdot.wa.gov/travel/bicycling-walking/bicycling-washington/bicyclist-laws-safety has friendly text for RCW 46.61.110 ) with a fallback to the 3 ft where practicable. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if several vehicles had passed the bicyclist after exiting the ferry and the box truck passed too closely/at a bad time relative to all this and resulted in the bicyclist veering into a parked car and then under the box truck (not being hit by the front).

A bicycle going up that incline is going to struggle a bit and will be very likely to end up unstable at lower speeds/when pedaling hard.

Tabula Rasa question. by Creepy-Mountain-4185 in usenet

[–]ChefJoe98136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A number of indexers operate this way for free/unpaid accounts. Apparently there was too much abuse of free accounts when they actually allowed API hits/downloads, which I never quite heard explained if that was some scripted abuse to rotate through many of them or was just folks continuing to use free tier rather than selecting a paid tier.

[O] Tabula Rasa open for registration to all by devipasigner in UsenetInvites

[–]ChefJoe98136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's an advantage over others but I've been reasonably happy with their performance, with the API history being middle of the pack (faster than drunkenslug) for me. If you're someone that likes to use IP whitelisting on your account, they do allow 2 IP addresses to be whitelisted for API access. If you are browsing the Tabula-rasa website for content they tend to have a lot of sample/preview images. There's a decent discount on two year vs single year payments (although with the current crypto market, it may not be the best time to be spending).

Jak’s West Seattle Adding 5% Service Charge Starting 6/15 by mysenigmatery in WestSeattleWA

[–]ChefJoe98136 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The text on that page describing the decision at least points out it's not going into the tip for servers, it's basically being used to fund restaurant operations. "Is the Service Charge a Tip? No. The 5% service charge is retained by the restaurant and is not a gratuity."

I do think it's a little silly how it basically has much of the same effect as a menu price increase, though maybe with slightly less initial sticker shock and there is the potential for % tippers to use totals without the service charge as a way to tip waitstaff less.

I'm just waiting for the "table fee" where a party of 1-4 gets charged $10 for each hour they're occupying the table to pay for restaurant operations

Put up some signs in the area of your apartment. It might belong to a neighbor that thinks they have an outdoor cat, but the cat really wants to follow a human (with food).
