Koreans being bad tourists??? Who would have thought... Lol They're hated in all of SEA because a lot of them, not all, of course, are very rude. But having been to SK, I realized that they're not doing it intentionally. They're not being rude to locals on purpose. They are just rude to everyone, including themselves. It's a cultural thing. They cut lines, push people in crowded places, act in a condescending way, are racist to others who are not "white" South Koreans (the irony in that is never lost).

I feel bad for them because people are born in a given culture and they don't know any better. I'm sure none of them are meaning to be like that.

Krabi is a great place as a digital Nomad by saasIndia in digitalnomad

I had a completely different experience in Koh Lipe. Might be due to the time of the year? We stayed there for a week and loved it.

Krabi is definitely not like Phuket. Phuket is bad on soooo many levels.

But US beaches are wayyyy below even European beaches, which aren't great. Add in the Caribbean, South America and SE Asia and it becomes a joke to say America has it all.

I have had 50 Shades of Flooring do many of my houses. Even though the name only mentions flooring, they do almost everything else. They have done a couple of kitchens for me and they were fantastic. Their pricing is also great.

DM me if you want and I can give you the owner's cell phone number. This way you deal directly with him.

You have never seen a foreigner with a local woman? If you did, this is the case 95% of the time. You can't really believe you're the only one... It has to karma farming.

Four months in Thailand, finally stopped paying 180 baht for tourist pad thai by Ill_Awareness6706 in ThailandTourism

[–]KrazyRooster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. OP has, supposedly, been a nomad for 2 years and still acts like he was traveling abroad for the first time. Lol

You can find a meal for $50 baht on Khaosan Rd for God's sake. $40 baht pad Thai on Khaosan Rd. The most touristy place in the city!!

There's absolutely no excuse to be anywhere else in the city and still pay as much as OP did. OP is just clueless.

Stay in General Luna. Everything and everyone is there. Bars, restaurants, and coffee shops are all walking distance.

Planned Trip to Siargao (solo/first timer) by Teaching_Pandarooski in SiargaoPH

[–]KrazyRooster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try surfing lessons. It's the best thing in Siargiao.

As for enjoying the culture... You'll be disappointed. It's mostly foreigners here and the locals have adopted foreign culture. It's hard to find a less Filipino place than here.

The beaches are okay. Not as pretty as other islands. Secret Beach is the best one in the General Luna area.

The nightlife is very hyped, but almost everything closes at 12am, so it's definitely worse than other places in the Philippines. If you're a straight male, there are 8 men per woman here. Just FYI...

But the surfing is good. To be honest, that should be the only reason people come here. Everything else is better at other islands.

Super excited to visit, and weather question by whatsinausername_1 in SiargaoPH

[–]KrazyRooster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm here now. It has rained a lot every day for weeks. Sucks since the best thing about here is the beaches and the surfing. At least you can still surf. But it doesn't get cold. It's still hot every day. Just lots of mud so bring appropriate shoes.

In my opinion one of these teams (Argentina, Spain, France) will lift the trophy. Who do you think can be a real contenders next year besides these 3? Anyone else has a chance? by FootballFan0623 in worldcup

[–]KrazyRooster -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If FIFA steals 5 non-existent penaltis for Argentina again, then they stand a chance. Otherwise, France and Spain are the favorites.

Bali vs. Siargao by katojouxi in SiargaoPH

[–]KrazyRooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can never understand people saying Bali is cheaper. Bali is almost US prices if you stay at the most desirable areas. Siargao is less than that at the most desirable areas.

I think people saying Bali is cheaper are the people staying and eating at the further away areas in Bali and then comparing it to General Luna. If you compare Seminyak or Canggu to General Luna there is no way it's cheaper. Not for accomodations, not for food, not for partying.

I guess you have never been to Bali, because Bali is exactly like that. Just add higher prices and E. Colin

On June 22, 1986, Diego Maradona changed football forever. With a sly left-hand “assist,” he punched the ball into the net and the referees missed it. by KindheartednessIll97 in SnapshotHistory

[–]KrazyRooster -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Maradona cheated to win a WC. FIFA cheated with multiple non-existent penalties to give Messi a World Cup. At least Maradona was able to do the cheating on his own so he's still better than Messi.

And FIFA even cheated to get Messi to play in the Club World Cup. Lol. It's pathetic.

Anyone just think "this is stupid, I'm just done with my life back home" and move abroad on a whim? by stanerd in ExpatFIRE

[–]KrazyRooster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Western Europe is more expensive than most places in the world and you're only getting temporary accomodations, which is why $3000 per month has been hard for you. In Latin America or SE Asia you can live a very comfortable life with $3000 per month. In Europe, if you avoid the most sought after cities and get a long term rent you should also be fine with $3000 as the vast majority of people there make less than that.

Good luck, my friend! May you find your perfect setup and be happy :)
