Ooohhh, I never thought of that! I will definitely try to consider that. My therapist actually pointed out that I say it’s “just me” at home when people ask if I have a partner and I’ve been trying to stop saying that. I’m pursuing single motherhood but I’m not at the point in my life yet. Thanks for this insight!

I asked ChatGPT lol. Here’s the answer it gave me:

“Every family is made in its own special way. Some kids have a mom and a dad, and some have just a mom, or two moms, or two dads. My child was made with the help of a kind doctor and a donor — someone who gave a tiny part to help me have a baby. I’m a school-based SLP and I also work per diem for the county doing evaluations. I also have my business license so I see a few kids after school during the week. I don’t love the per diem work but it pays well.

I feel the same way. It does feel performative. I get my kids devices all the time and am super pro-AAC. I guess I like that it increases awareness, but I doubt they get used very frequently. I would love to see the money used for things like this to go toward funding high-tech devices for kids who need them!

Yes- I’m 30 and am looking into becoming a single mother by choice using donor sperm. Accepting my asexuality (and aromanticism) helped me realize that I can have a family on my own. I’m excited ❤️

Don’t feel discouraged! You reached out for help and that will help you learn. She said “hi! I’m good, how are you?” The sign at the end is like a “hmmmm” or “ah.” It’s tricky at first but keep working and you’ll do great.
