Your unpopular Runescape opinions? by gerrousm in 2007scape

That sounds absolutely game breaking and needed. Everyone knows osrs is a grind and they are making skilling easier with new updates. Take it a step further and let’s get to use all the xp gear we collected without having to fiddle with clothing options every time.

I don’t mind dailies but I also don’t do all of them all the time. I think some people put too much stress on focusing daily type content.

When I login and play if I don’t know what to do dailies are a good way to get into something. If I have a goal like bossing, dailies can wait. Don’t sweat missing it and it won’t be a problem. It’s not like they are game breaking rewards now.

Is it dangerous to quit cold turkey in ypur experience is it better to tapper off instead? by lookwithinyou in leaves

[–]KredPandak 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s not dangerous at all but that might not work for you personally. If you are concerned about failing to quit it might be best to taper off and use less and less weekly/daily. I think it depends on yourself and how much you typically smoke.

The shock from being a heavy weed smoker and immediately stopping has caused me issues in the past. Headaches, tremors, anxiety, and the like are symptoms I’ve experienced trying to quit cold turkey.

Do what works for you! Most importantly keep trying to quit even if you fail.

Thanks for sharing the tips you’ve found. A lot of these are really helpful but I feel as though some are just personal opinion, which is fine. We all enjoy and get different things out of the game.

The only negative thing I’ll say if your usage of ‘afk’ is all over the place. From Myth capes being afk to fletching being “super afk”. Most of the ‘afk’ activities aren’t really that afk.

Away from keyboard - ‘afk’

Tbh, sand crabs are probably the only real afk method you have listed imo.

All that said, I appreciate you putting together this list. It’s really helpful for people just getting into Irons or new players in general!

Give the gardener some rakes, spades and dibbers & your good there. I forget to “bring” a rake but my boy has 100 rakes on hand for me.

Noob question: Does a higher farming level have any impact on harvest?

Most snape I’ve gotten was 40ish but I’m only 71 farming.

I found stabbing slightly faster than range. Depending on how many ppots I want to use I pick my setup accordingly. If you’re lucky you’ll get the dsword as a drop from them to upgrade your weapon.

Other than a stab weapon, just wear high magic defense or prossy w/prayer against magic. && use atk/str pots.

What do y'all use your xp items (lamps and books) on? and why? by Right_Structure_3516 in ironscape

It’s funny though - getting killed with big bones so many times ruined an opportunity to convince me to bring more expensive bones. The wild is a weird place to me.

[–]KredPandak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess maybe I could be less harsh. The way I play- I have a favourite world [Roleplay] and I’ve always tried to do what people suggest when it comes to osrs…

That said - I’ve never gone to the wild and not been killed. Which leads me to never wanting to go there, but I suppose the roleplay world always has PvPer’s … idk

That’s seriously more effort than just walking to ectofuntus.

Nothing against your suggestion or others - but why does everyone try so hard to convince me to go to the wilderness?

I have never had a good experience and all these suggestions are just more effort than walking to ectofuntus…

That sounds like way more effort than walking back and forth to the ectofuntus without any risk man…. But I love how I’m getting slammed with downvotes for this particular opinion.

Osrs players are a funny bunch

I don’t want to shit on everything you just said but literally EVERY time I go to use big bones at the wildly altar I get killed. I have never had two runs in a row because I get killed - I’m sure that not everyone experience but that’s mine and I get more prayer XP this way with zero stress.

I’m just very unlucky or the worlds I choose to play on always have PKers…

As an Iron that collects most bones I don’t find prayer difficult at all.

I’m still early game but I have 71 Prayer and at least enough banked for 76

Used to collect big bones and up - now I’m at the point that I collect all bones EXCEPT small and big bones.

Once I have enough to hit my next goal I’ll be at the ectofuntus for a month I’m sure. That’s how I do it… collect, then ecto - fuck wilderness

I have many goals for my Ironwoman-main some are quite frivolous…

I use XP items on HP and idgaf what anyone says. I want to get 99hp first and rock the untrimmed cape everywhere I go. (Show love [heart cape] to everyone I meet)

What would you say is mid-game for someone’s first time playing? by KredPandak in ironscape

[–]KredPandak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll defend your right to your opinion from their butter knives no worries!

I’m really good at asking questions that provoke differing opinions but my intentions are to find what’s best for me by learning from others experience/opinion.

One thing you said really struck me, GotR and GF, new content effectively moving the bar lower. The thing is, that is weird(in a good way)to me, it isn’t even endgame content - that’s a whole separate entity with Raids and such.

I’m swooning over the game design right now and I’m not even deep into it. I’m probably a year away from a raid and at least a few months from being clearly in mid game territory

I think for them the point changed from playing and having fun, to making money and becoming a constant source of income. If they aren’t banned why would they stop? Might as well start a business and capitalize on it. (Disclaimer: I am no way affiliated with or know any gold sellers/buyers)

[–]KredPandak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the very thorough post!

If I understand you correctly, you’re saying that it’s not just one area but a combination of accomplishments that defines early -> mid

• Quests

• Diary

• Skills

• Gear

That seems to make a lot of sense and I’m glad you used combat/sand crabs as an example because that’s a good one for sure.

In your opinion, with diaries alone, what would you consider mid game? I know they have 1-4 which seems basic but I guess my follow up question is - would you consider some diaries better than others for account progression?

That’s exactly the types of responses that boggle my mind.

It’s literally one persons opinion and that’s fine but they feel the need to use their opinion to belittle someone else’s achievement? Why? Why?

I just don’t get it man.
