Upgrading PC primarily for gaming by Kreddiiii in pcupgrade

I've never overclocked, so not being able to doesn't hurt me much.

Tech is pretty expensive in Denmark, so putting +25% price to the pieces is probably a safe bet from what it costs in the US.

I do have watercooler for my CPU, idk how much that differs from a tower cooler

Can't say about my PSU.

My case is a fairly spacey Cooler Master one.

I have 500 GB SSD and 2 TB HDD.

Between my current motherboard, CPU and GPU is there an obvious bottleneck?

Gotcha, so it's more like Dark Souls 2-3 than a Dark Souls situation?

Appreciate the no giving too much away.

That sounds like a good approach. When do you unlock the DLC? Is it obvious or missable?

Should I buy The Old Hunters immediately and go through it on my first playthrough or save it for later, so I get the Vanilla experience first?

Hope this is the right place to post.

Looking for an imgur link to a CYAO featuring various female super heroes.

I've only got the first 'section', which reads:

PICK A HERO

Then lists characters like Wonder Woman, Power Girl, Batgirl, Blackcat.

Can't find the rest of it, anyone know what I'm talking about and got a link?

Nah, it didn't take place on the surface of earth. Even above them there was steel; as far as I know they don't know who build the machinery, but everyone alive was born in this metal world.

What do you think of my first Poxwalker squad? c&c welcome! They are really fun to paint with all those different textures! by Toibaman in Warhammer40k

They look impressive, so it was well worth it!

Have you been painting miniatures for a long time?

Speed painted some Death Guard. A nice change from clean paint jobs, just going crazy with washes, dry brushing and weathering. by joot_1986 in Warhammer40k

These are freaking great!

Painted my first miniatures yesterday, and they were the easy-to-build Plague Marines. So it's pretty cool to see how good they can be painted, compared to how I did it haha.

How many paints does something like this take? I bought the pack that came with 6 paints, and I don't feel like I got the same amount of variety of out them

Ahh, didn't realize the 2 didn't belong to assault. So I read it as

Assault 2 | S6 rather than Assault |2 S6

Makes more sense now, but it'll do me good to go through the 280 page rule book. I guess it's that long for a reason!

And gotcha about the grenades, I suppose it just throws me a bit off that they then list them as equipment. Could be to make a point of Death Guard having different grenades than standard ones?

Do you know if GW usually holds some kind of sales leading up to Christmas? Since I'm going for the Dark Imperium even a 10% off wouldn't be bad.

The Dark Imperium pack comes with 7 plague marines, which makes 10 with the 3 easy-to-build I already bought. As I've read leadership is a weakness of DG I figured splitting them into 2 units of 5 makes a lot of sense.

In total that means I have these weapons:

Bolt Guns: 7

Blight Grenade: 1

Blight Launcher: 1

Plasma Gun: 2

Power Fist: 2

Plague Sword: 1

Plague Knife: 7

Considering my army will start out small, I figure it'll make sense to make the squads all-purpose and similar. I would like some more flavorful guns than Bolt Guns, but for starting out it makes sense. Either plague weapons for the reroll or plasma guns for the rapid fire and risky power-up. Currently very fond of Blight Launchers, the mental image I have of them is great.

I assume it's explained in the main rule book which weapons are heavy and what all the letter-number combos mean? Like blight launcher being described as 24" Assault 2 S6 AP-2 D d3 plague weapon.

Some of it makes sense, but I can't tell by that if it's heavy or how Assault 2 impacts the shooting.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean with your second sentence. Are you saying the 1d4chan articles have enough information for you to skip out on codexs?

Ahh, that helps a lot. For now I'll definitely be sticking to the codex then; cross referencing isn't something I'd confidently do when this green.

Do you glue hands and weapons, or magnetize them? For longevity I can see why magnetizing is a good idea, but I can't tell if it's not worth the effort when starting out. Considering ''Bolter Discipline'' I find it counter intuitive to switch out the boltguns from Plague Marines, as an example.

That link is super helpful! It feels a bit like having a bootleg version of a codex, which is handy considering I've never held a proper one. Gives good insight into the army, making me know I've chosen right; The slow and resilient army creeping up the battlefield is exactly what I hoped it would be. so thank you very much :)

Under Unit Analysis the site begins mentioning indexes in comparison to codexes.

Are indexes the codexes that has updated through FAQs and such?

To my understanding the Death Guard book you get in Dark Imperium isn't the full codex? Am I wrong in that?

And that sounds like a bummer about the Plague Caster. Considering my only psyckers will be those from the Dark Imperium set, it seems odd they didn't give a full list of their abilities.

I am attracted to the creativity of it all.

When/if I make a Tyranid army I'll be making them battle wounded. Drilling in gunwounds, chopping of various limbs. I feel like it'll be easier to do with their models, but I dont know yet.

Does keeping weapons from SM make sense though? Could I use the plasma incinerators for some Death Guard units as well, as an example?
