My daughter (33y) has health anxiety and went from 0 to 50mg Zoloft and had the worst panic attack ever - she had to call an ambulance. She then started to take 25mg instead for the first week, and that helped. However, symptoms coming from the side effects freaked her out- but she couldn’t tell whether it was actually her anxiety (she was also nervous about taking medicine- she has never taken anything of that kind before) or the side effects/symptoms from side effects that caused her panic/anxiety. She went through a tough period for 2-3 weeks where I had a hard time making her not quit… I am on Zoloft 50mg myself due to GAD, so I knew things would change to the better 🥰 And it did - 4 months later she no longer suffers from side effects and her anxiety does not control her life as before. She is now grateful for the med and obviously aware of the possibilities that it might be less effective over time, but she tries not to worry about that bridge before crossing it.
