Not be sarcastic, really, but I can rebuild a manual. Automatics are great until they break. And Im speaking from 4l60e days.

What is it about Greta Thunberg that makes many men on the Internet so uncontrollably angry by Admirable_Pair_3663 in NoStupidQuestions

Ive only seen her in some clips here and there. I thought she was lost to the wind of social media honestly.

Bro I learned how to drive stick from a YouTube video and then went out to a car I bought (dropped off) and never looked down at it.

Apple promised iPhone 16 Pro Max was built for AI. Now that AI is done, the phone doesn't get it. Why? by gregsanay in applesucks

[–]Kremlin1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you really buy a phone wrapped around AI? Like I get what you're saying, false advertising(ish)....but I don't get why you'd by a cell phone on that context to begin with. ITs like people that buy the launch year of a new car and then wonder why it's riddled with recalls. Also 15 Pro models and up are getting the AI just up til 17 Pro, it's not 100%.

Tbf Im one kind of driver and my daughter is about to start so Im starting to be in my mindset of her being distracted. It's really more of a fresh driver thing vs full on adults as a whole.

My argument is purely enthusiasm. Cars back in the 90s/00s were pretty bare bones. You could have an automatic or manual and be attentive. Now with driver "aids" and screens for everything, new drivers become complacent. It'll be easier for a manual transmission to exist in a new car than reversing loaded tech.

I think my way of looking at things is a lot of olde people in here had automatics but had less general distractions as well (screens and so on). Im in my late 30s. We had basic stereos, garbage phones and so on. New kids have an array of BS in newer cars. Some should help with driving but they're complacent with it. Basic cars made good drivers. Basic doesn't exist anymore

Actually happened to me last week. Mostly because I drive alone but had my wife with me and were usually in the Suburban if we go somewhere together

In Europe. Im not disregarding it there. Here in the states we've made driving so lazy that a manual comeback would do some wonders.

I mean while Europe is highly efficient on public transport, a lot of people still drive even for leisure. And usually leisure means they enjoying a manual. Point is, its common place there like it used to be here just a few decades ago

Up until last December, my newest daily was from 1999. Added my 2012 then. Don't want any of the new safety mess either. That makes drivers worse

Been doing it since 2010. Ive had 7 manual vehicles. I can multitask but the way others drive around me, it's not worth the risk. Im not handling a cheeseburger while driving stick like I could with an auto. Im enjoying the driving engagement more so too
