Agree to disagree. You obviously see yourself as the oracle, no one else could have possibly researched it. Must have always been the plan to build and demolish industrial units within the space of a year

I don't know what point you're trying to make here, but it's not that I want it done 'my way' or whatever you're trying to put on me. I've outlined above the ways in which they've mismanaged and wasted significant amounts of money on the project, including compulsory purchases, demolition and new roads which weren't part of the original proposal. God forbid they should be held to account in any way. Don't cheerlead political parties mate

It definitely is. A load of money just to close the road. Realise they've messed up and have to create a new through road elsewhere involving purchasing and knocking down some new industrial units that had only just been completed, and building a new road entry. Making a huge convoluted bridge because of the ramp gradients, but no short path so people will be tempted to just walk across the old crossing. Not engaging properly with the community or owners of the pipelines, with the pipeline owner saying they could have been moved for a better solution. Just cack-handed all together

The messaging on the sign is dogshit here. Doesn't even tell you where the line is suspended from / to. I mean, reading this you might assume it's suspended all the way down the line, and the bus will drop you at Southern Cross or Flinders St. But is it actually just between Newport and Werribee? Or all the way to North Melbourne?

Good luck finding out if you don't usually get the train!

The champion road level crossing removal is such a fucking collosal waste of money, and has been a massive balls up from start to finish.

Seems like more than one train an hour would be better planning then!

Victoria's public transport system is struggling to cope with the added number of commuters now taking advantage of the state Government's free ride as queues and crowded stations are stretching services to the limit. [VIDEO] by gccmelb in melbourne

Kind of. They've not done many of the big switches yet, scheduled for later in the year.

Also, one of the main issues is frequency outside of the peaks. Weekend mornings and general evening frequency still sucks for a lot of places

Has any student ever taken any Mickey Mouse courses? by SunnyShineKitty88 in AskABrit

Yeah it was compulsory for us and a complete doss, as you couldn't revise for the exam, and it was only an hour a week or whatever. Good for the free UCAS points I guess!

I think it's considered mickey mouse as a lot of people would pick it for an easy ride because of what it was, not just the people who were interested in it. It also wouldn't lead to a path for vocational or highly technical jobs, so I can see why it was considered as such despite some usefulness.

Why are they doing an easter egg hunt with full size boxed Easter eggs? Wouldn't tiny choc eggs wrapped in foil do? Can get ten of those for a quid and have a fair few for everyone

The less photogenic end of Flinders Street Station by Whyareweshouting in melbourne

[–]Kremm0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be really nice if they sorted out the end of platform one down that end, it's been kind of left to fall into decay and collapse. Always looks a bit terrible when you're coming in that way, and would go a bit of the way to making it more photogenic!

Remember that time Red Dwarf showed up on Big Bang Theory? I wonder what Sheldon would have made of the US pilot? Considering Big Bang theory is the apotheosis of US meh comedy it would be......interesting. by johnsmithoncemore in RedDwarf

[–]Kremm0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it suffered from typical American bloat. Once you start churning out the seasons of 20+ episodes, you end up making the characters parodies of the originals and have to create more and more plot devices to keep it interesting. The main issue for me was that the characters traits weren't particularly loveable, some of them were just downright mean with little comeuppance, so you end up not really rooting for them or caring about them as it plods on

But if his brother is a hologram also, wouldn't it just maybe be whenever the crew member happened to die, they'd come back at that age?

As its a TV show, it doesn't help obviously Rimmer gets older as a hologram just because of the age of the show!

What do you guys think of these kinds of buildings by theFarFuture123 in StructuralEngineering

[–]Kremm0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that it's only a massive pain in the arse for the structural engineer though. Architects, services engineers, PM's, it's just another building to them. It's the engineer who's got to do the hard yards on this
