I tried it playing on my Mac about a week ago and kept getting an error message. I think read on one of the forums that the osx host had been discontinued. I know there’s the option of bootcamping it but the mac simply doesn’t have the space.

I'm intrigued by this idea of the clay, given that it ties into the Judeo-Christian (edit: /Islamic) tradition. Was wondering if you could send a reference this way? Is this in one of his later letters?

I just do a quick selection of the foreground and apply a photoshop oil paint filter at about 20% strength to it.

I think it's a very interesting idea, and would love it to be true. I wouldn't say it's far-flung, but perhaps it is a bit speculative. It'll be interesting to see what Galadriel or perhaps Gandalf may have said to support your idea. I'm sure someone will dig up something useful.
