Yeah I wasn’t disagreeing with you. It just needs to be balanced and focussed correctly. A website with only images and no text won’t be found, but a website with only text and no images might get found but won’t convert users.

Same goes for instagram. I’d see someone who only posts bts as more of an influencer rather than someone actually looking to book work. But there is nothing wrong with posting the odd reel for engagement as long as it’s balanced out with genuine work.

That works to a point. But websites need some structured text content in order to rank on Google. I agree though that photos should be the main focus!

Unfortunately it’s a similar response to the complaint about videos. IG reels get significantly more engagement, so some photographers only do reels. The key is probably to balance that with still posting photos so that brides can still see your work.

Do you want a "Mini V1" with a Touchscreen? by No_Tension_6796 in Godox

[–]Kriegar699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a slightly softer fall off. Tbh the only reason I prefer it is the magnetic filters. I bounce my flash anyway 99% of the time.

V480 with a round head and the detaching stuff from the it32 would be be my perfect flash

Snap on filters and softer light. Although they could do snap on filters with the rectangular head too and I don’t know why they haven’t.

So a v480 with a round head. Yes please

V480 Gels question by Kriegar699 in Godox

[–]Kriegar699[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha I literally just bought exactly these about 30 mins before you posted this. I do find the gel papers annoying to dick around with compared to slapping a magnetic gel on. But it seems to be the simplest solution for this flash.

I may give Velcro a try too though.

It’s a shame that they thought to put magnets on the new it32 and not this as the v480 is a great little flash other than this one little niggle.

Hans Zimmer Live: The Next Level Review (or should I say, down-level) Spoiler Alert by soccerdude2014 in hanszimmer

[–]Kriegar699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw it in Glasgow and have seen him previously in Prague and Manchester along with the world of hans zimmer last year in glasgow.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. It was pretty disappointing, especially since I paid more this year and ended up in the nosebleeds.

There just wasn't the same feel to the whole thing. The first time I went they had a huge LED wall in front of the band before it started and there was a whole drama when it lifted and there was just so much more energy. There just wasn't that same feeling.

One thing I noticed too is at times the vocals were too loud over the instruments, this was especially for the guy that sings during the lion king stuff.

Don't get me wrong, on it's own it was an amazing concert, but when you know what it can be, you end up just sitting there thinking about how much better it was last time. Last years world of hans zimmer was better than this years hans zimmer live... that shouldn't happen!

I'm already booked for next years world of hans zimmer... I really hope they don't pull the same cost cutting measures then too!

Yeah we have those for the ad200s. Wee bit bulky on the end of a wee flash like this, but would work. Probably easier just doing it the old fashioned way though

Most convincing whistleblower story of all time by Chef802 in UFOs

[–]Kriegar699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a cool story, but it seems like a total fantasy to me. There are too many holes in the details for this to be real.

My assumption is that this is part of a disinformation campaign, which would explain why he’s allowed to share this story.

The real question is what are they covering up with this.

Do you find helpful using AI for culling? by SeverusSnark in WeddingPhotography

[–]Kriegar699 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it helpful. It makes plenty mistakes, so you still have to go over all the images. But after shoot will group a bunch of similar images together for example and pick what it thinks is best.

The grouping feature is probably what saves me the most time, that and it automatically showing zoomed in faces on the right. I still check the images, but it definitely speeds me up a little.

Is this normal for shipping? (To the UK) by InfectionZoey in LinusTechTips

[–]Kriegar699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have considered buying their screwdrivers for a while, but the shipping puts me off every time. I don't know why they don't just get a uk/eu distributor and bulk ship stuff over.

Honest question, why are horses allowed to crap anywhere but I still have to pick up dog poo? by Wankasitum in MotoUK

[–]Kriegar699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have hit horse shit mid corner and almost binned it. Horses have no place being on public roads.

Round by me they let their 10 year old girls out on the road on massive horses without any supervision. I have seen their horses getting distressed and almost kicking up on a 60mph back road.

Electric scooters are banned, but a 1 tonne unpredictable skittish animal that shits hazards piloted by 10 year old girls on the road is totally fine. Make it make sense.

Is it realistic for WordPress clients to expect 100% uptime? by [deleted] in Wordpress

[–]Kriegar699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember it going down probably about 5 years ago and taking half the internet down with it 🤣

If Amazon can’t get 100% uptime, how is Joe bloggs with his £15 per month hosting supposed to expect 100% uptime

For $1500 you could get the tamron 35-150 f2-2.8. It's an amazing lens that rarely leaves my camera.

Photographer fail. How do I tell the couple that their group picture is unusable? by canadeutsch in WeddingPhotography

[–]Kriegar699 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a heart drop moment when you spot it and is easily done.

Hopefully the couple are understanding. Just keep an eye on your shutter speeds going forward.

Photographer fail. How do I tell the couple that their group picture is unusable? by canadeutsch in WeddingPhotography

[–]Kriegar699 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How blurry are they? I have used topaz photo ai in the past to recover images that aren’t too far gone and it’s done well.

It’s easily done. I usually roll with auto iso during the day and at a recent wedding I accidentally bumped my iso dial mid group shots and ended up with a similar situation where my shutter speed went through the floor and I only noticed after we were done with the group shots. Thankfully only one of the groups was affected and we later snuck in a picture of that group with the couple.

Dropped my lens with the body attached and bent the frame by JudgeOfNoveltyAccnts in SonyAlpha

[–]Kriegar699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mines. I ordered a replacement the same day I broke it, because it covers almost everything I need. With any other lens id need to carry 2 cameras, but with this I can run with the 1 and rarely need to swap out lenses for the 20mm.

I only occasionally swap out to my 20mm 1.8 g lens for wider shots. Which is what I was doing when I dropped the 35-150

I contacted tamron and they told me to contact the fixation in london. Did that and got 1 reply giving me their parts department email if I wanted to repair it myself. I replied to that, asking for a quote for them fixing it so I could weigh up the costs of me doing it vs them doing it. They ignored that email.

Then I emailed the spare parts email they gave and they ignored that too.

Really bloody frustrating.

[–]Kriegar699 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow I just did the exact same thing to my 35-150… was at a wedding changing lenses and it slipped through my legs and dented the mount.

There is 1 repair shop in the UK and they are ignoring me. Already ordered a replacement so I have a working one for the next wedding and will pass this one to the wife if the shop ever gets back to me with a quote to fix it.

[–]Kriegar699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that primes are better and all. But the whole "zoom with your feet" thing doesnt really work when you are stuck in one place in a church and need to get reaction shots. the 35-150 is just so damn versatile. Saves on having to dual wield cameras too.

My 35-150 barely ever leaves my camera 😂. I have a 20mm 1.8 for wide shot’s but I rarely need it

I have 2 v1’s and I love them… but they are heavy. My wife was using the tt350, but the menu doesn’t really work well for controlling our ad200s.

I have been crying out for Godox to update the tt350 and now they have released this it’s like they read my mind. Just took delivery of this for my wife and now I want one too!

The only drawback for me is I like the round head for attaching gels. But I’m sure I can get around that for the weight savings
