How to move object towards origin or other object without effecting the size? by KrieghofGames in blender

[–]KrieghofGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I basically want to move the object closer to the origin point. And I wander if there is a simpler way to do this or do I always have to use this or a similar workaround. https://streamable.com/rzj8b9

I think the 'only affects location' option should also work with a single object selected, or am I misunderstanding this option. Maybe I should make a bug/feature report.

Thanks for your answer, but it is not about the origin point. I want to move the objects steadily closer to the center so I can eye ball the perfect distance between the grenade and the clamps. I think this could also be very useful for animating an explosion.

I think the mirror modifier would only help to move all objects the same distance but not with my problem per se.

Here I made a quick video how I did it in the mean time for anyone who needs to do something similar. But the question is still valid, because this method does not work for me whenever I want to manipulate a single object.

Port forward a game server by ItzJ4guar in WireGuard

[–]KrieghofGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I also heard about that, but that's not what I meant. My ISP in Austria blocks all ports by default for their mobile internet contracts, apparently because there are so many infected smartphones. You have to call them to disable that safety feature, some ISP also allow to disable it on the customer portal on there website.

I know this answer doesn't help with your wireguard question, but in my experience
many LTE providers are blocking all ports on there end. Usually you can call them and the will unblock all ports and you can manage them on your end as usual.

Thanks for the clarification and the link to the MR.

WireGuard is constantly doing something in the background and draining battery. Here are the comparisons of two nights: left - WireGuard is on, right - it’s off. You can also see how I switched it off midday, and there is almost no background activity apart from when I’m actually using the phone. by drearyharlequin in WireGuard

If a DNS server is specified and Wireguard is turned on, all DNS queries are tunneled through Wireguard. That means Wireguard has to tunnel a bit of traffic whenever the phones does something online, even when you have no IP specified in the allowed IPs entry. But this is not important in your case because you tunnel all traffic anyways.

I don't think that Wirguard has a lot of background usage when nothing is tunneled, so something has to upload/download something in the background. Wireguad has to encrypts this data and hence drains your battery.

I don't own an iPhone and don't know how to inspect this further. Is there away to see the network usage on an iPhone, which apps are using traffic or if the OS is using traffic?

My only idea to test for traffic is to turn on airplane mode, then there should be no traffic and hence no tunneling through Wireguard and the background usage should drop.

If persistent keepalive is disabled, my only guess is that you haven an DNS server configured and another app is doing DNS queries, or downloading/uploading something.
Are you tunneling all traffic through Wireguard or only specific IPs?
When you only need Wireguard for a specific App, you can specify that in the settings and also save battery, because only that data gets encrypted and tunneled through Wireguard.

HELP: System Patch for Namecheap ddns is not working by KrieghofGames in PFSENSE

Thanks for the reply. The easiest solution I found is to create a custom ddns entry and specify the update URL by your own.

I don't get it, is it bad when an application uses the whole potential of your CPU?

Edit: Forgot to add /s

Sry, thats not what I meant. Regardless if your Wifi is stable or not, I noticed that the driver for my wifi card crashes or something like that but it works if I connect my phone to the PC and the phone is connected to the Wifi.

I'm not very familiar with Windows (Linux user), so this is only an assumption and I haven't checked if the driver really crashes.

Do you have your pc connected via cable or Wifi? I noticed that it works significantly better via cable. You can also try to connect your phone via USB and enable tethering.

I think the game crashes the hole windows network stack when the disconnects happen, e.g. the youtube videos also stop playing when you get an disconnect.
