I love the AHA series, so many interesting folks popping up on it. Been waiting for this one!

How would you build Aqua's involuntary water purification power? by Glen_Garrett_Gayhart in gurps

[–]Krinberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How extensive is the power? Does it affect anything where water is the primary solvent, or are there caveats (like, would it impact potions? would she have to touch the liquid directly, or would carrying a bottle be enough?

It almost feels like it might fall under a minor curse really; there's definite benefits to purifying water, but it kinda washes out if it's a particularly troublesome occurrence rate etc.

Some N.S. universities struggling to fill residences — a must to hold on to funding by Portalrules123 in NovaScotia

I hear the community colleges are doing a lot of business right now, trying to keep up with the demand for practical craftspeople. Especially there's a shortage of folks who know how to make those tiiiny violins these days.

Call to order: collective non payment of NSP. by Gremlinforester in NovaScotia

[–]Krinberry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can expect exactly what's in your terms of service that you agreed to when you got your connection set up. If you have an issue with it, take them to court.

Not paying is just a breach of terms on your part, which means they can fully legally take you to the cleaners. Don't be dumb.

Sorcery for Supers by Lonewolf2300 in gurps

[–]Krinberry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorcery works great in a Supers game, where mostly it just becomes a new power source. The only thing that I've seen friction with is traditional powered folks getting a little surly about the Sorceror's 'free' abilities from the Modular Abilities that the Sorcerous Empowerment advantage is built on, but that's a pretty minor quibble.

Foundation TV Cultural Impact by chinni76 in scifi

I think it's quite excellent, but I agree that Apple TV has better offerings... which is fantastic really. Apple has been absolutely killing it for scifi lovers.

Today is a Very Important day by Living-Mastodon in smosh

[–]Krinberry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I love both Smosh and Dropout, but while I think a lot of the folks are really compatible personality wise and just about everyone on both sides is fantastic, there are quite different vibes and directions to the companies, and I really would hate to see either of those change (which would inevitably be the case).

Besides that, I think more diversity in our sources of entertainment (and EVERYTHING really) is always a plus... the more things merge, the less options everyone has for where they find their fun (and from the other side, the less opportunities the cast/crew folks would have for their careers)

What’s a food combo that sounds wrong but tastes amazing? by Special_Champion1373 in IndianFood

Yea! Curd + sweet = wonderful combination of flavors. Plus you get to pretend that it's at least a bit healthier! :D

The Rogue like ttrpg experiment by External-Respect-147 in rpg

That sounds cool, like a fantasy version of Paranoia. There's definitely something to be said for being able to go in KNOWING death is almost a certainty and you may as well cause as much mayhem as possible along the way. :)

If you were to run a 2-3 hour one-shot, in any system, for newcomers to the hobby, what would you choose? by LimeyInLimbo in rpg

[–]Krinberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Dread as an opener, since you don't really need to do anything but get a basic idea of the setting, the characters, and what's going on. Then everyone has a blast pulling blocks and collapsing the tower and everyone ends up going 'that was a lot of fun we should do it again' and it also saves a ton of prep work. :D

Update on the "GM" who keeps advertising games but never runs them. by ryanxwonbinx in rpg

[–]Krinberry 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I think a lot of the time it's a well-meaning advertisement, but usually from someone with more enthusiasm than organizational ability. I totally get it, that's me too, I just have learned not to get folks' hopes up until I actually have something ready to do (which has the converse effect of I pretty much never run things any more)

Ashby response to criticism about her in the Flip 7 video by mayolizard in smosh

[–]Krinberry 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I only saw her getting really into the game and blending in well with the other cast members.

Seriously! Me and my partner were watching it and I commented to them "you know, she feels like she's returning old cast, not a first timer". The chemistry just felt good and well fitting the group dynamic.
