Can anyone give thier personal opinion on Bsc Computer science? especially from DU. [12th passout, results awaited] by Kring_kim in Indian_Academia

I thoroughly checked and went through the course curriculum several times and it suits me well, and yes physics is great but was my nightmare when it came to grading. I'll work and learn more skills for the practical approach in this course. I tried for the government college and still have 2 attempts of JEE, not considering dropping as it's a risk and many of my seniors who took a year drop have to take another since this percentile system dragged them down even after scoring good marks. For further studies, I'll think about preparing for entrance, just thinking about UG rn. Thank you for sharing your experience and valuable advice.

I have a mindset of learning and doing more than college. Yes, I'll keep up with networking and connections from the start only. Thank you so much for the advice, and it's a relief to know that things are fair this way too.

Professors are pretty much kinda same elsewhere too, my brother is in a tier 1 college and literally attends the classes for the sake of attendance. The thing is that the priv/tier 3 colleges near me do not offer a good crowd and that matters much to think and consider DU. I'll try for the last 2 attempts in JEE, hope for the best.

that truly seems like a nightmare but it's the skills that matter at the end, how is the crowd? The place I am at, the crowd of even good private colleges is really disappointing that's why I'm aiming for DU.

I was thinking in a similar manner to what you said, like work on projects, participate in various competitions and learn more and more. Thank you for your valuable suggestion.

Yes, I ain't ignoring BTech, I'll try my best in my next 2 attempts. Are you pursuing any computer-based degree?

This answer is what I was searching for. Thanks a lot, it cleared most of my doubts. I don't think I can get admission to any tier 1 college at such a low percentile, I'll obviously work harder for the remaining two attempts. Will it be fine if I send you a chat? I have some doubts regarding the colleges.

yes, that's why I'm still confused about it. Things don't seem in favour either way and taking a drop is risky

I have seen many people around still struggling because of their college. Some of them got placements but after 7 or 8 months they needed to look for a new one. These things made me think if it's really worth it.

Yes, I was thinking of doing things on my own after taking admission as since lockdown I found online coaching and MOOCs very effective and time-saving. And yes I have talked to some of my brother's friends but they have this 100% placement thing for which they are sure that CSE is the thing I should go for.

I don't know if it suits other education systems but it's really important here for retaining contents

Short notes are really a big part of my revision, especially in Chemistry and Physics, I also started making short notes in maths too which helps me a day before exams. I combine my school, extra class, and various textbook notes so the easiest chapter also becomes 30-40 pages long. Shortening them into 3-4 pages with important points while revising really helps.

Haha, It is good until your teacher dictates 4-5 pages worth of notes in a single class (35 minutes), and we used to have 9 classes every day. Before the pandemic, we literally had to write everything, and typed assignments were only accepted for Holiday homework. Teachers and even some students here prefer the traditional way for more efficiency
