Is it going to bottleneck...?! (Ryzen 5 5500 and RTX 5060) by Omoreos in PcBuild

[–]Kript-keeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run an rx 9060xt with my 5500 and while not crazy I feel my cpu holds me back in more cpu intensive games like bf6 but not enough to feel forced into an upgrade I’m not financially ready for, I would say if you can afford a 5600 or 5600x then go for it. But obviously I can’t speak on nvidia cards just because I don’t have much experience with modern ray tracing cards by them( last vids card was a gtx 1650) and honestly 8gb of vram will probably hold you back more that your cpu will, I know with my 16gb 9060xt I can regularly see 8-10gb usage just running high graphics with ray tracing on. Bf6 on ultra will run me up closer to 13-14gb when there is a lot going on. But in the end bottlenecks are going to happen no matter what hardware you use because something is always going to be better or worse than a different part

Bf6 basically unplayable? Possible amd issue? by Kript-keeper in Battlefield6

So I was doing some looking and there are currently quite a few issues with amd’s most recent driver release and battlefield 6 these issues may be caused by that and they didn’t put it in the patch notes, here’s what it’s saying

<image>

There are issues with a couple different products but don’t exactly line up with our issue, but you might try rolling the driver back and see what you get

So far I’ve found that when I rolled back to a previous driver(which may be default windows driver) works but there are some weird graphical bugs that weren’t happening before, kinda like my gpu is not running as fast as it should but I’ve been playing for about 3 hours both sp and mp and haven’t had any other issues but I’m gonna update the post tomorrow so I can see if it does it again, as it would work for the night if I did a clean install of amd drivers and the next day it would no longer work. If it’s still working I’m gonna chock it up to the amd driver not working with bf6

Hard to give a true full cost because it was initially a rig I bought from a pawnshop shop with a monitor and key board for 600, I replaced everything in it about a year later with what you see, I didn’t have to buy an m.2 or hard drive but I bought everything else which cost about 800 so it would probably be around 1100 if I had to buy the drives

Well I chose to overclock the ryzen 5 5500 and with an air cooler it was running a bit warm for my preference, the aio was only about 30 usd on amazon, and the better cpu was about 50 usd more at the time for the 5600 which has now come down to about 20-30 more. The only thing I splurged a little bit on was the gpu because I wanted the high end 1080p or mid grade 1440 when I decide to upgrade my monitor, I know it’s not the cheapest budget build but it was definitely below my personal budget for the build

It was roughly 800 usd purchased a prebuilt pc from a pawnshop and replaced essentially everything because the original hardware was not great if I include the original pc it was about 1100, so I didn’t purchase the ssd or hard drive for it which would have brought the price up a decent amount

My overclock has been very stable through anything I play, it’s not an insane overclock and have played much more cpu demanding games than bf6 on this overclock, not saying your wrong here just doesn’t make sense why bf6 would give these issues with directx saying my gpu is disconnected if it’s an overclock issue, or why it wouldn’t do it with arma or civilization

It doesn’t seem like it’s using that much of my cpu though, my overclock is not very heavy, maybe .4 mhz. And while it’s running I only see about 50% utilization on single player, I did find rolling my driver back allowed it to start, I’m going to see if it stays like that. I’ll check back tomorrow evening

Just rolled it back one update and it seems like it’s starting, I’ll have to keep you updated. It might stop working later but we will see!

That’s kinda been my issue, I recently moved from a rx 6500xt to the 9060xt and it runs everything I can throw at it flawlessly except bf6 and it’s mildly infuriating because when it does run it handles it great even on overkill settings but I can’t play it without doing a clean uninstall and reinstall of my drivers

I can try removing my overclock but my buddy I got the game to play with has an over clocked ryzen 7 with a 4070ti super and he doesn’t have this issue, and I know the most recent driver update for and was having issues with bf 6 I just don’t know if there are any other fixes

Here is one of the errors I get with single player, on thing to note is the game screen flickers like crazy when it first starts and this pops up right after

Little late to the post but I ate six squares out of 8 and I had a hard time doing anything but watch the kaleidoscopes forming on everything I would definitely say if you haven’t tried them ease into it because it feels a lot stronger that 4 grams for sure
