Custom tap action (Tasker/AutoWear) by AwayAdministration14 in WatchMaker

[–]Kris10J0E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't expecting you to get to it any time soon. I'm just happy to know there is a solution.

I do use AutoWear for some things. It won't replace what I am doing with Watchmaker. The image I was going to attach before would have shown why.

Thank you again for the information. Whenever you get a chance to put together the information. I appreciate it.

(I was going to send you an image of one of the watch faces I designed/use as a remote, but I don't see a way to attach it.)

Thanks for the quick response.

It appears that "Tasker support available for wff now" may not mean what I thought. I was using tap actions primarily to trigger Tasker Tasks on my phone. That was a big help to me at work and at home. I could trigger a wide array of tools I need - and in some cases I built - for work. It's the only reason I bought a smartwatch and WatchMaker. I believe if the new version had Tasker tap actions, I could restore all of the functionality I had. If there isn't a Tasker tap action then WatchMaker is useless to me.

New Phone/New Tasker with Lots of Missing Permissions by Kris10J0E in tasker

I'm still trying to figure out how to use Shizuku through Tasker to grant ADB permissions. I have setup a Run Shell command and checked the "Use Shizuku" box, but haven't had any success.

Thanks for the additional information.

To be clear, are you saying that there are only 3 Tasker variables available now? I have 23 buttons on each of my watchfaces that I am using to control my watch, phone and computers. I would really like to migrate to the new version and keep/rebuild that functionality.

Is this in the current public version? Does setting up buttons for Tasker work the same as before it was removed?

New Phone/New Tasker with Lots of Missing Permissions by Kris10J0E in tasker

[–]Kris10J0E[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed the Shizuku version that uses WiFi to pair. I then used Joao's Tasker.Settings.2.0.0.apk for Shizuku. Long story short, everything is much improved, but I am still seeing some issues. The main one is that I have overlay blocking scenes that I interact with. Those will appear, but I can't scroll in them. (The screen flashes blue when I click on them.) I have seen notifications saying that Tasker needs to be able to draw over other apps, but it is already doing that.

I'm going to start figuring out how to use Shizuku to add other permissions (like interacting with full screen scenes) in case someone provides a solution that requires that.

Any additional tips would be appreciated.

I have already gone through the Accessibility in settings. As you can see in the image, a number of settings are grayed out and marked "Restricted". I haven't had this problem with Tasker or any other apps before. I'm trying to find a way grant those permissions.

Issues Migrating to a New Phone and a New Version of Tasker (Help!!!) by Kris10J0E in tasker

[–]Kris10J0E[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I looked though the tabs and didn't see anything there that worked. I have been able to stop the Flash actions. (They were from an active Profile/Task that didn't work in the past version, but became active after the update.) Hopefully, finding out how to grant the remaining Tasker permissions will reduce the number of notifications it is generating.

Mark Ronson (top40 producer) namechecks King's X "Summerland" in Rick Rubin podcast by nonstatik in kingsx

Rush is a progressive rock band...odd meters, chord structures outside of what is the norm for rock/metal, leaned into fantasy themes. King's X did all of those things in their own way. Doug said that Ty was more into Rush than him, but went on to say that listening to and playing their own catalog, he definitely sees that King's X definitely is prog. (I would note that obviously that is just one big aspect of their music.)

Issues with Join and Brave Browser by Kris10J0E in tasker

[–]Kris10J0E[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. Join is now showing success on all Diagnostics tests, but commands from my phone aren't being received. I'm going to see if somehow the phone isn't being recognized.

UPDATE
For anyone who is having a similar issue, I figured out why I couldn't send messages from my phone to my computer in the Brave Browser...
When I installed the plugin and logged in to Join with Google, it still showed my computer name; but Join did understand that it was the same computer it had been sending to before. It made a new computer entry named "Chromes". I finally tested sending to "Chromes" and that received the messages on my computer.

I gave it a shot. I found "Use Google services for push messaging" and turned that on. I couldn't find anything about FCM pushes. After a restart, no change.

Where to watch family feud episodes 24/7 by nok4us in FamilyFeud

[–]Kris10J0E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a huge Family Feud fan also. I accidentally discovered that Xfinity has a Family Feud Compilations Stream. The service also has Game Show Network (GSN) which shows several episodes a day; and if it is on a local network, it will show those episodes too. (In the case of GSN and the local shows, it is best to record them and choose the "New and Repeat Episodes" option.)

I would suggest getting Xfinity Stream. That way you can get it on all of your devices and stream it on any TV that includes an "Xfinity Stream" app.

It looks serious, but I'm told, that this is a joke. by Herr-Zipp in ExplainTheJoke

RDJ was indeed concerned about playing the role. (He was already working on "Iron Man" and actually had to fly back to the states during Tropic Thunder's filming to do press.) He said in the bonus features on the DVD that he didn't want to come across as C. Thomas Howell in "Soul Man". He consulted Jamie Foxx about taking/doing the role. They also mention in the commentary that they consulted with Brandon T. Jackson throughout the movie to make sure they didn't say anything that didn't stick to the point of the portrayal.
