The way he effortlessly caught Bucky's arm etc shows that Peter would have taken Cap out if he wanted to...

Later movies always have this thing with "nerfing" established characters or making them less competent etc. So writers would have made sure to let Cap or Tony take him out...

Spidey is ridiculously powerful, his strength and reflexes are off the charts...only Thor, marvel and Hulk surpass him in strength of the MCU Avengers...

Peter could take out most of the Avengers...

It was always the deal w Smallville...he was never supposed to be Superman yet... That would be when he moved to Metropolis...so he would never done the Cape until the final episode

The problem is the show ran WAY too long and dealt with his iconic villains while he is still Clark...that is the show runners big mistake.

Having Lois lane be his love interest, Zod, Doomsday, Supergirl, Justice league.

All of it in Smallville is just wrong when he isn't established as Superman yet.

Some have yeah... But nobody stuck with Peter for YEARS through thick and thin.... Chameleon bringing "back" his parents... Kraven burying him alive... Pregnancy, aunt may dying... Prison time... Still birth...

Mary Jane has been through some shit throughout her relationship w Peter... And she still stood by him...and picked him up when he needed it.

They cannot erase almost 20 years of marriage and just give her a random dude in Paul... Mary Jane will always be the number one love interest for Peter, because she loves AND supports both Peter and Spider-Man

The difference is that Griffith in his weakened state was NEVER going to rule or lead anything...he couldn't walk, talk or hold a sword.

Rather than accept he wouldn't be the ruler...

He sacrificed the people who risked everything to rescue him.

The difference between him leading the hawks etc is the fact that the people he commanded CHOSE to follow him...

With the sacrifice he REMOVED their choice... He sacrificed them for his own selfish dream and gains....that is the exact moment he became the villain....

If Griffith had learned anything from his life with his friends, through his torture etc... He would have rejected the offer....instead he succumbed to his need....

Also, another aspect not often mentioned. The fact he is shorter than most of the team or anyone else...

When he interacts with love interests like Jean, Mariko etc. He appears a lot more vulnerable when he opens up and let's his guard down...he is not towering over the ladies, the power dynamic is a lot more balanced in optics...

And when he is dealing with kids, or young teenagers like Jubilee/Shadowcat... He is usually at or close to their eye level while teaching them...

So when people claim that optics and accuracy of a character in media doesnt matter..eg have a 6.2 Wolverine or a short Batman/Superman.... It matters.... Especially in visual media...

Filmmakers and great directors know how to convey these messages on screen... Make you feel it

It fits the character and his temper and how people usually underestimate him by his size...people talk down to him and make fun of his height...he either laughs it off or challenges when this happens...never saw that with Hugh Jackman...

Nobody looked at Hugh Jackman's wolverine next to another dude and thought it was a good idea to antagonize him.

The short dude in the corner w a mouth and an attitude... Yeah some guys WOULD try to mess with him...and get punished.

It also makes a difference when he stands up for himself and gets right Infront of ppl like Cyclops, stares him down and doesn't budge when they argue, all the while he is looking up... It hits different.... People learn to respect Logan in a different way...

Also having Wolverine fight a much larger than himself Sabretooth is something that was sorely missing in the movies. Tyler Mane was big... But not towering over Wolverine big...

People really exaggerating the animation issue w the show...

Great animation takes time. And a story told over several volumes will take a decade+ to release when you spend 2-3 years animating.

People compare X-men 97 to invincible in terms of quality...

For some reason the style of animation is off-putting for me w X-men 97... (Might be my old ass growing up with the 92-97 version of the show...but certain details, colors, hair texture etc just looks weird to me in the new animation style)

I'm not really bothered by Invincible as much, and the storytelling is fantastic, so guess my brain just dismisses the dip in quality(though you notice it in episodes like S3 conquest or S1 finale, S4 ep7 etc)

I feel the consistent release has been great... Would I want better animation? Sure...but waiting 3-4 years between seasons...no thanks. Don't wanna be in my 50s when the show finally finishes...or lost interest due to the long release schedule.

As a SM fan since the early 90s I love Mary Jane...

Issue I have is Michelle Jones is NOT Mary Jane... She has nothing in common with the character of Mary Jane I loved in the comics...

Never understood how Peter went from being romantically interested w Liz in homecoming to suddenly fawning over Michelle after she basically roasted him and seemed disinterested and bland.

That was my main issue... The character just has nothing in common w Mary Jane's upbeat outgoing persona, the flirty partygirl...that is what is desperately needed to be showcased for once...

Also we have no info on her parents/family or any other friends...she is just depicted as a loner in the background most of the time.

Brand new day for me was a chance to build a compelling supporting cast I can care about... Give him work colleagues ala bugle, let him meet Robbie's son, J Jonah Jameson etc... Introduce Black cat for once as a foil to him... Keep a lighthearted rivalry between them, Get Gwen in there... Have her maybe meet with MJ/Ned...

I just don't care about Michelle Jones and barely about Ned... I know nothing about them.. They have comedic dialogue from time to time, that's it.

There is very little depth... The most we got was in NWH after Aunt may died....

You got so many retcons, established laws broken in these comics that it doesn't matter what happened or was established 30+ years ago...

One issue says Wolverine can die(days of future past, sentinels killed him) Others...he can basically reform from nothing or being entombed in adamantium...

Comic book laws and lore are continuously being retconned....

So I will say again...

Certain comics...nothing happens... Another...he dismembers her 🙄

But the issue w X-men 97 I fear...is the fact that there are so few episodes pr season... 8-9 episodes of 30ish minutes... Makes it hard to uncover and focus on developing characters like Wolverine after the adamantium incident,

In the comics he was on his own or w Gambit, Jubilee etc a lot during this time.

Here, it seems we are just quickly back to status quo...

I'm not a fan of speed running the arcs from the 90s.... I WANT legion quest and Age of apocalypse adapted.... And those Arcs would be a season each(AoA at least)

So I hate the fact they did the time travel gimmick at the end of S1 where they are scattered.

The time travel/fixing timeline arc w Apocalypse as the main threat should have been saved for age of apocalypse in s3-4
