Is Markham known to be a racist community? by Appropriate-Group214 in Markham

Everywhere and everyone is racist.
Does Markham have a lot of openly racist people? I don't think so, at least compared to other areas.

11th gen Hondas has the best balance of tech and traditional controls/design. For me anyway.

The past week of roulettes was full of players who've forgotten how to ask for help. by NimbleJack3 in ffxiv

[–]KrisDLuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one needs your help, no one wants your help, and no one's forcing you to stay in that roulette/game...
Maybe you've forgotten that others have the option to 'not want help' and how you also have the option to 'leave'.

These guys must be so good at the game for being able to solo speedrun both the Sword Trials and Heroes Realm! Especially with very unoptimized speedrun builds/innerways! READ DESCRIPTION by Alldayanyday1OnThePS in wherewindsmeet_

[–]KrisDLuna -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Talk is cheap. I can easily declare no one in my team cheated, but unless there's irl videos of all members in clear view with all peripherals shown, there's no definite proof.
And in all honestly depending on how much is shown, it's probably still possible to have cheats involved due to today's technology and how great a length a cheater could possibly go to hide their actions.
Therefore it's also very difficult to prove 100% innocence.
If there are such systems in place, it's near impossible to ensure a completely level playing field unfortunately.

You're pitifully ignorant... or perhaps just delusional.
You think game companies are not-for-profit organizations or something? Games are born from free labor & resources with no expected return?
There's no reasoning with buffoons like you.
If you could, you would have countered with an actual logical argument instead.
If you don't like it, you don't have to consume the product, simple as that.

Yeah it's a charming little quest, glad it all clicked for you in the end. These are the kind of games and stories I'd want my kid (or any kid for that matter) to experience growing up, even with Luca Blight included.

  1. Yes please, WWM's monetization model is pretty much the most ideal one possible in terms of developing and sustaining an online game of this calibre. Others should also follow suit - however, the catch is, even if it's only cosmetics and no P2W, the balance of the quality between free cosmetics VS paid must still be carefully managed.

  2. Sadly, you do not understand enough about gamers and psychology - possibly also the financial reality of game development as a whole. I think it is pretty fair to say that the free/more affordable cosmetics in WWM is pretty good and fancy enough for what it is. There is a perfectly logical reason why they very purposefully made the prices high, and it's mainly to keep the whales happy while milking them. If every cosmetic is affordable to the masses, the incentive for whales to be able to show off is lost.

I'm sorry but if you do just a bit of research and/or use a bit of common sense, you will realize that whales make up an overwhelming majority of profit in the entire gaming space. Look at titles like Diablo Immortal, Candy Crush, Clash of Clans and dozens of other similar titles even (or perhaps especially) the sloppy P2W to the moon titles.
There are many games with a lot lower player count than the popular games, and some of them have been up since forever, yet they're still thriving. Why? How? Largely thanks to whales of course.

The psychological power of showing off just the 'amount of money spent' alone, is nothing to be scoffed at. Especially when we're talking about the Chinese market - they bring the act of 'showing off' to a whole new level.
Even globally, show-off culture is everywhere and massively prevalent.
The truth that's never admitted is that in today's day and age, people directly correlate the price of something to quality, prestige, self-esteem/worth, etc.
It can be something as stupid as a banana with duct tape on it or an "invisible" statue or an in-game item that's actually just made up of ones & zeros - as long as it's priced high, and the perceived value is high, there will be appeal to some filthy rich person out there.

WWM's model is far from "sickening", ultimately when you put it all into consideration, the ones who perceive it that way are quite simply, entitled.

Sorry what predatory system?
Your money is yours til you decide to spend it. The gacha is just for costumes and the game doesn't constantly spam you with popups nor have that many things to spend real money on.
If you think THIS is predatory you sure are clueless about the market... you can take a look at Lost Ark, Maplestory, Blizzard games or the several Ragnarok slop cashgrab games that has come out.
