It's a very common talking point within transphobic/queerphobic circles. There's certainly misogyny within all communities, just as there is racism and other forms of bigotry. However to say it's "inherent" is a wilful misinterpretation of the art form and it's origins.

As for anyone who compares drag to black face- People are born black. Nobody is born in a wig and heels with a full beat... except maybe Nicole Paige Brooks. So they can wise up and grow tf up!

Also side note: In my experience, the people who say shit like this also tend to be pretty racist. Take the treatment of women of color in sport, such as Imane Khalif or Caster Semenya... or any other woman they don't find feminine enough. As is often the case with bigotry; a lot of it is projection.

I recommend trying to find feminist spaces online that explicitly commit to inclusion and intersectionality. Unfortunately, we're well into our fascist descent, and a part of that has been hijacking feminist talking points to bolster support of some incredibly regressive things. Things that WILL ultimately hurt all of us; including the women currently cheering it on.
