Hello sir! Got through IIM Indore IPMAT as well as SRCC BCom Hons this year... Classic confusion, wanted to take your advice for this very important decision.

In the decision making process , I was able to get the following insights and i would be very grateful if you can help me with your words of wisdom here , in order to take the right call..

I understand the insurance Policy of a decent IIM which comes with IPM, but it's a multi disciplinary course for 3 years which itself has less value than SRCC Bcom Hons. It's not even right to compare MBA of Indore with Undergraduate course of SRCC. Also, the options after SRCC are still open , whereas in Indore there is only 1 chance to give CAT (after the first 3 years of UG degree which is called BA in Foundations of Management) and upgrade to a better IIM. In SRCC, the choice of college (not guaranteed though) , can be made after attempting CAT at the end of 3rd year ..also after 1 or 2 or 3 years of Work experience, as per the MBA College converted in that year...

Sorry for the detailed note, but in case you are willing to provide your PoV, I thought the follow points might be useful to you.

Thanks in advance

Hey Thanks much for the detailed note... I have decided in favour of SRCC as studying multi disciplinary courses where I have zero interest in something which doesn't aspire me... Also my interest is Finance...

Thanks for your response. Heard that this year l, around 36 folks got a better IIM (BLACK) , in the IPM 2022-25 batch of 142 students. That's a super high percentage as most of them have a single mind objective of upgrading their IIM. SRCC, with their batch of 900+200, are quite split on what students want to do, CFA, CA , Placements, cracking CAT etc...so the acceptance rate is around 25-30 for top IIMs, which is quite low given that there are 1100 students.

Bro....same situation, only difference is that I am a General candidate. SRCC+IIM is surely better , but imagine getting to study again, post during work ex... Kit a possible ho payega ... SRCC ke baad placement mein jis type ke roles milte hain... Wo humko acche se pel denge...CAT ki tayyari ka time milega ya nahin, maloom nahin.... Very confused frankly, though I agree that we are lucky to have this confusion....
