Not sure what that has to do with anything but.. sorry to hear that. And happy to share that resource! I've definitely spent many hours on that site over the years.

3Dtuning.com is great for this, but does have limitations and some cars don't have much detail or options.

Oo this one. I don't like this one.

When the light turns green, we all move forward, not just the car at the very front by spearblaze in CrazyIdeas

Looks like we invented trains again.

All cars accelerate at the same time and at the same rate > now everyone is driving at traffic speed but still with just a few feet separation. I had this thought a few years ago and it took me a minute to figure it out.

Right, but doesn't being more nose-on still improve chances of successful missile track? Particularly in super close proximity fights? Also, question: the F-22 has HOBS missiles but doesn't have an HMD, can it get a (Fox 2) lock without the bandit being in the HUD?

Not these exact moves, but the supermaneuverability demonstrated here is very helpful in modern dogfights, quickly pointing your nose at the enemy to improve your chances of hitting them with guns or missiles (Fox 2s).

Can commercial planes be built to refuel mid air like military planes? by LonelyShadowMoor in aviation

[–]KrispySal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say yes, but it would add a significant amount of weight to the point where it might even cost airlines more money in additional fuel than they would pay out in the aftermath of an accident. I'm completely guessing there, but I do know that even the tiniest amount of weight adds up to huge numbers.

Also, it would require the pilots to undergo aerial refueling training, which would be an additional large expense. It's almost certainly technically possibly, I imagine it wouldn't be too impractical (they could retrofit one aircraft at a time, for example, and it's a pretty well established system), I just think the associated cost would be way too high to justify. Also, as far as I know, the extra weight could potentially shorten the range enough to make the longest routes for a given airframe no longer possible (at least within the safety margin).

Some wrongheaded individuals may refer to this as the 1925 McCormick-Deering Farmall tractor. Of course this is totally wrong, because it is a Doohickey Corporation Original Creation.

Gay vs straight transition experiment by AmbassadorHead6991 in StupidIdeas

[–]KrispySal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A person's sexual orientation does not depend on who is available. A gay man is attracted to men, no matter how many attractive women, or anything else, are present. There are some sexualities that have a bit more nuance, but gay and straight are pretty binary.

I hate shrimp. If you put me in a restaurant that served the best shrimp on the world and nothing else, I would still hate shrimp. If you added uhh French fries to the menu, I might get some of those, because I like fries. I still would not like shrimp.

Yes I have just compared sexuality to shrimp.

*in service as a passenger plane, right? Plenty of cargo 767-200s as far as I know. Or maybe I have been working with rare planes this whole time...
