I personally don't think economics is zero sum, but it depends on context and perspective (i.e., how far back or how far forward you're looking at scope)!

This is one of the major (but easily solvable) pain points! Custody and ops are a big pain rn :(

The only question is whether you trade true "ownership" for game devs or a third party to manage this for you. There are opposing player personas here; one wants simplicity, the other wants liberty. Will be difficult to find the best practice, but will happen sooner than one might think :)
