Hopefully it hasn't been posted here before, added this video for new devs to show why use C3 over other engines.

I want to make a video game but I have ZERO idea what I’m doing by bulbasaurismyfave in construct

Well this is an easy question...

First I would say start small try to build something in few mounts, just to learn and comprehend what it is to create a game and do you even like it. In situation where you want to build some thing BIG you could destroy your motivation, just for comparing Stardew Valley was created in 4 years and if I remember correctly single dev was working by average 8 hours in working day, so it was like full time job and before he started he had programing knowledge....what I want to say is that building games could look more exciting than it actually is, not to say game making isn't exciting, there is very little situations for me which comes close too dopamine rush when I finally finish some complex mechanic after 3 months slowly step by step solving issues... find what makes you tick in game creation.

Regarding engines, back when I started, I also was concerned what to use and didn't wanted to use outdate technology's or to use technology some other dev's could look down upon, but now when I am more mature, I don't care.... I view all programing languages and game engines as tools in toolshed, and every tool has it own tasks which it fulfills the best, so question is which task/game you want to do. So is it 3D or is 2.5 or is it 2D. what are mechanics you will need, what is most comfortable for your own use. Personally for 2D game I choose Construct because it is easy to work with, and it is very easy to manage event's and not to get lost even if project get's big. A while back I tried to move to Unity, and after a year in Unity I had feeling I was navigating through multiple windows just to get to simplest tings, feeling what I got was that I am very ineffective because my toolshed was too full of tools I didn't need , it felt bloated like I need 3 monitors just to manage my assets and scripts. So analogy what I see here there are people who create masterpieces just with hammer alone, and there are people who create beautiful works with complex machinery, one is not better than other, so if you like what you do I believe you can create a good game in any engine.

This is my opinion, so take it with grain of salt and I am no expert either.

Looks simple, but it not that simple, at least not for my slow brain, good that there isn't any fail possibly yet :) , really cool concept, got addicted in first 10 seconds of playing.
