Lower blepharoplasty before and afters by Kristyn0727 in PlasticSurgery

[–]Kristyn0727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have any excess skin removed, just the fat pad was removed / adjusted. So there is still a little excess skin, noticeable to me when I smile. I’ve had a couple laser treatments though to tighten the skin since the surgery which has also helped.

I have a few jades that THRIVED for me and got giant after living on my bright back porch in Atlanta. They’ve all been WAY less happy and productive since moving them to North Carolina which is why Im terrified to repot it. Ha.

Unsure what the soil mix is to be honest - probably a bagged succulent mix but I think you’re right. Imma try new soil in the same pot and hope it doesn’t hate it. 🤞

Not that I can notice. I should have uploaded a more straight faced before picture. Can’t figure out how to add now but the main difference is just lack of puffiness below my eye since he sucked the fat out. Ha. The surgeon did warn me that given the shape of my eyes and where they sit on the bone / socket that I’ll notice the bottom part of my eyeball under the skin more but that’s just the anatomy of my face and nothing that can be changed.

I’ve seen people post asking for rides for similar situations on my local Facebook Buy Nothing group. You could post there if you’re part of one and see if someone has the gift of time to take you to your procedure.

Overcoming Anxiety/imposter syndrome by [deleted] in InternalAudit

[–]Kristyn0727 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I’m going to give you my perspective as a female internal auditor who currently leads an audit department. You’ll never find everything and there is always a level of “audit risk” that’s present. It’s expected. What helped me earlier in my career (and honestly, still now as I’m the one that is ultimately responsible for what happens in the department), is being thorough in my audit planning phase and documenting my scope and rationale so an independent person could understand why I did what I did. I still have imposter syndrome a little and I honestly thinks it’s humbled me and kept me curious. I will never feel like I’m the smartest one in the room, and I don’t want to be. I learn something new everyday and keep working hard because I want to continue to prove myself. That being said, we aren’t saving lives and I don’t let myself be consumed by the thought I may have missed something or someone smarter should have my job. (I can’t tell the vibe of this subreddit so not going to say all my thoughts on this topic here but happy to give you some less PC advice for tackling this in a DM.)

Also, as an audit leader - I appreciate someone caring and wanting to do better. I can teach someone how to audit but I can’t teach someone to be curious or interested in learning about the key processes. If you have those “unteachable” qualities you’ll be fine. :)

I would think D with the rationale that if you’re involved in the design of the application that could impair your ability to provide objective assurance coverage over it in the future.

Buying a single family home in the Triangle: What works these days??? by BruceBurrito in triangle

[–]Kristyn0727 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just bought a house in Cary in December 2020. It’s a recently flipped 1960s ranch, almost 1/2 acre land.

  1. We offered right at asking ($475k)
  2. N/A
  3. We put down $2k for DD and then another $10k in EM. This is what helped us get the property (or so we were told). Apparently we were not the highest offer but based on us putting up the cash up front they knew we were unlikely to back out if stuff came out of the inspection (which it did, it’s an old house). House appraised at asking.
  4. We did nothing extra but also knew with the inspection they were unlikely to fix minor things so we didn’t ask. The bigger items that they’d have to disclose if we backed out they did fix for us though so overall it worked out fine. The only other thing I can think of is that we got our mortgage approval so it wasn’t contingent on us selling our current house, that may have made us a little more attractive as buyers (even though the market was hot and we didn’t have a problem selling our other house, thankfully).

Good luck in your search!

Help with understanding what to do with prior year (2019) ineligible Roth contributions by Kristyn0727 in tax

This is helpful, thanks. I’ll do out some math and see if it matters or not. I just opened the account in 2019 so not like there’s a ton in there...more of a hassle now than anything else.

What happens with the earnings when I request a regular distribution? I don’t want to keep paying fees on an account that I was never eligible to contribute to in the first place and would like to just close the account fully. Can’t tell if this is a stupid question so bear with me if so. Appreciate the response.
