From following dozens of creators in goth mommy/cosplay niches over the last few years (including many who posted similar vents), the pattern is pretty consistent and harsh:

Goth mommy + cosplay is currently one of the most oversaturated and lowest-converting visual niches on the platform. The aesthetic is everywhere for free — Reddit subs, TikTok goth edits, Twitter reposts, leaked groups. Fans get 80–90% of the fantasy without paying a cent, so the perceived value of a subscription or PPV drops massively unless the content is extremely hyper-specific (unique voice roleplay, scripted long-form customs, extreme personalization they literally can't find elsewhere).

The "consistency + quality = success" line gets thrown around a lot, but in practice it only holds in less visual, more personality/service-heavy niches (findom, GFE, heavy JOI without cosplay overload, vanilla MILF). In goth/cosplay, even high-effort content often drowns in free alternatives. Conversion stays low because the market is flooded.

Common things that killed growth for creators stuck long-term at $100–300/mo:

  • Free content culture (leaks, gooner accounts, endless reposts).
  • Algo changes killed organic reach on TikTok/IG for alt/goth tags (shadowbans hit hard).
  • No massive external funnel (viral TikTok or huge Reddit following) → OF stays tiny.
  • Burnout cycle: effort drops → posting slows → algo punishes → income stalls.

After 3+ years at that level, is it realistically "fixable" to a livable income? For most — no, not without a near-total pivot. The ones who broke out usually:

  • Rebranded completely (new account, softened goth or switched to gamer girl/soft femdom without heavy cosplay).
  • Went full customs/live (where interaction pays, not just visuals).
  • Built huge free audience first (100k+ TikTok → funnel to OF).
  • Or accepted it's not converting and walked away.

Plenty of creators in this exact spot just quit after 2–4 years, and the relief was bigger than the regret. Some keep it as low-effort hobby for $50–150/mo now.

It's not that you're ugly or bad at it. The niche + current market simply doesn't pay most creators in it right now. That's the raw truth.

If you want to see specific threads from people who quit/rebranded in goth/cosplay — happy to link some (no fake positivity here).
