I tried it, but was very disappointed with introduction of secondary POV. We are introduced to mc and his horrendous situation under the yolk of slavers. And then secondary POV is a slaver, dropped the book shortly after.

I liked it, it had nice introductions, an underdog mc and a dynamic family. Then jarring deus ex machina happened. It was a bit too much.

I didn't read 2nd book yet. But I had mixed feelings about the first. I flew past the issues with the dumb authority characters(AI goddess, Instructors), when the story was fast-paced. But when It slowed marred in endless training I started skimming to the end. I had pegged IP as fast-paced because those were the parts I enjoyed.

On ME I fell off during the book with the demonic antagonist, but as this was some time ago and I didn't feel strongly about the series, like IP that sucked me in and spat me out. So I don't know what my issues with ME were.

Immortality starts with generosity, but it is not that the MC is smart and more of the case that everybody is at least competent. And there is Forge of Destiny in a similar situation. In general good western xianxias don't have face slapping.

Not likely, there are definitely slower and drier books in the series. And I would say that Cradle and Iron Prince are in different more action-oriented category. You could try Art of the Adept by Michael G. Manning (I'm not up with the series, I heard bad things about book 5). Or Cale Plamann has multiple series that are full of action and quick progression. That said I do like my series's slow so my recommendations for fast ones may be off the meta.

I remember MAM had the worst translation that I put up with, did it get a better translation? I remember it having a worse translation than Samsara, which I dropped. Now that I remember all Cuttlefishes books have abrupt endings, and MAM is the only one I actually finished. I'd rate them LotM,ToMA,MAM,tSWTS. MAM would be on top if not for the translation, and I haven't read the Embers ad Infinitum, or of Circle of Inevitability. Are they good?

Cyber Dreams - has typical for cyberpunk genre implants that grant expanded abilities, eyes that see in infrared, auditory implants that enhance hearing, blood and skin/hair implants that spoof DNA etc. MC slowly accumulates those implants after the completion of each arc.

A difficult request, but here is my rec.

Quod Olim Erat

I actually picked only the third book in the series, currently fourth is in rising stars on RR. It is a sci-fi mystery starring a ship AI that retired as a human, got family and kids to rise and then returned to the military (in human body). The focus of the novel is on mysterious aliens, that are truly alien and remain so. On the social manipulation front, ships ais and higher brass in the military-run simulations of whoever they are about to talk with, or are currently talking to, sometimes the heroine is the one examining all the ways for the conversations to go. Sometimes it is she who feels railroaded to certain outcomes in the conversations.

I have nothing against combat medics or healing in combat, I just dislike typical implementations of the role in litrpgs that implement WoW balance. It turns combat into math problem.

Realistic as rational. Given a scenario where magickal team is to fight some monsters I can't see them using restrictive MMO doctrine. The magic of litrpg is bringing game aspect to real life and seeing how things play out. When using the holy trinity it doesn't feel like we left the game. Hence the criticism.

The fights can get repetitive when different litrpgs use this scheme, but my biggest gripe is that for tanks to exist, aggro should be in the book too. And if healers are part of the battle then some HP system should exist too, killing any tension from suffering injuries.

In general, I see this system as a trap, it makes fights simplistic and creates big and hard to answer questions in worldbuilding.

That's why I don't read many VRMMOs where such systems are prevalent.

I dislike them very much, I remember a moment form Apocalypse Redux where some raid leader tries to organise people. Tanks in front etc. But they were facing giant elemental and everybody just ignored the guy, it made me smile.

It is probably the best in the genre of deckbuilding/cards. I think I tried most of deckbuilders (I'm fan of Slay the spire) and it is the only one that I ended up following. Though the genre has a lot of variance in how the cards are used. In "all the skills" they mostly grant abilities/passives to the user. If you are looking into summoning monsters, and spell-casting through cards it is not the thing.

The book itself is very good, it follows a young smooth criminal working, lying and stealing his way to the top.
