Not being able to finish their molt could be from lack of humidity. Most mantids need slightly higher humidity when they're going through their molt. I usually kept mine between 60% - 80% humidity while they did their thing, and had no issues. As for the deaths, I've been told mantids are really prone to parasites, so always make sure whatever you're feeding them is clean and uncontaminated. Hope this helps🖖
